I love the "god is seemingly missing" angle because the angels don't know what qualifies someone to become a denizen of heaven beyond vaguely virtuous qualities (although Adam himself seems to contradict this). God as a concept is more of a vague force or will that the universe of these shows runs on, but if even the archangels don't communicate with "God" then they are all as in the dark about the reality of the world as humans are. I kind of love this. It also opens up questions about where "God" is or went and how much influence they have on the world beyond matters of death itself.

Theory: Hell is actually Purgatory having been invaded by the Watchers and various demons. First part: Hell in the show seems much closer to Purgatory. Purgatory is the place that souls bound for Heaven are purified, and it is thought of as a neutral space, neither paradise nor torture. In the Divine Comedy, Dante describes Purgatory as having 7 levels or terraces corresponding to the 7 deadly sins. Now look to the show's Hell. It's a place where everyone is just sort of hanging around, not being punished. In addition, it has 7 layers based on the 7 deadly sins when Dante described Hell has having 9 rings made up of a different set of crimes. It also makes more sense for a fundamentally temporary place like Purgatory to become overpopulated, compared to a destination place like Hell. Also note the odd choice of the show visiting an invented "cannibal town" and realize that many instances of cannibalism are purely for the sake of survival, like by people stranded at sea, not due to some fault of character. People who performed cannibalism in order to survive but were good people otherwise would be prime candidates for a long stay in Purgatory. Also notice how when Pentious is redeemed, he just appears in Heaven without any known character intentionally letting him in, almost like the 'infrastructure' if you will was already in place. But why does Heaven believe this? Because we only see what is basically the bottom of Heaven in the show. Assuming it's tiered like Dante's where higher level = better person, it would make sense for the people at the bottom to not have a very clear idea of what got them there because the people who did extraordinary things are higher up. It's also why we don't really see anyone important, like the Biblical Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, or any important humans, like the Prophets, Evangelists, Popes, Theologians, Mary, St. Paul, etc. Adam is the only important figure in terms of the Bible and the history of Christianity, and he's an odd choice for his purpose in the show at that. The more important figures are probably doing something more important, unaware of this trick. And the other part: Who are the Watchers? They are a group of angels who, before the Great Flood, came down to earth and had children with human women. These children were the Nephilim, giants who were called warriors of great renown. To me, it makes more sense for the Lucifer of this show to be one of these watchers, most likely their leader Shemihaza. I feel like a more accurate characterization of Lucifer would be a manipulative egomaniac and a pathological liar, very different from the show's take on him. And also him being a father figure also aligns more with a Watcher than Lucifer. So the story goes like this: The Watchers escape their imprisonment, gather up some demons, and invade Purgatory. Shemihaza poses as Lucifer and convinces everyone there and the lower angels that they are actually in Hell. This prevents new souls from getting into Heaven. Lillith may have been specifically working with the lower angels and Adam specifically, which is why she's there. Now where does Charlie factor into this? She is a Nephilim, Shemihaza's daughter, but not Lillith's daughter. Lillith is a demoness whose main claim to fame is killing babies, can you see her actually bearing a child? Where Charlie exactly was is unknown, but what most likely happened was Shemihaza brought her into Purgatory but wiped her memories so that she wouldn't ruin the plan. This doesn't necessarily mean, though, that Shemihaza lacks love for his daughter. They could easily have him deeply regret the choice and intentionally restore Charlie's memories when the moment is right.

Second, it's incredibly annoying and frustrating that you're presenting an iceberg where there's multiple "I don't' know what this is" explanations to entries. Here's my theory, as someone who jas a Christian background and upbringing. What we're going to learn, and the tough pill that'll be swallowed is that it's not about being good or kind, but righteousness, when it boils down to it, doing the right thing. Which is why we see Adam... who is depicted as a jerk in the show, in heaven. Because despite the fall and eating the Apple, he still populated the Earth with Eve and named all the plants and animals, he still did what was asked of him. Which is also why and how Sir Pentious truly got reformed. He sacrificed himself, which was a righteous and noble thing. Charlie is in the right direction, but she hasn't yet put the nail on the coffin. Which is also why Lute hasn't fallen, because she's still operating in her duties to an extent, as an Angel shes set apart to stand against temptation and evil's triumph.... She's just going above and beyond of what she was commanded. As for Vaggie, technically she hasn't legitimately fallen. She was scarred and mutilated by her peers, then she remained in hell.

Here's a Lilith theory: She hates Luci for "stealing her humanity". This wasn't always the case, it was was she saw that Luci would rather sit in his Office making Ducks rather than take care of the people whose lives he also ruined. Also when she saw him filling their child's head with nonsense and false hope. Remember, she is upset with her situation. So she makes a deal with Adam to free herself while also trying to help those who were cast into hell. She, as Queen in Hell, allows him to spin the "Culling Overpopulation" to Sera. He doesn't allow her into heaven but does allow her to make a world of her own; Purgatory. Neither here nor there. She perhaps meets with souls to do a prejudging or maybe she shows them their lives in their final 7 minutes [referring to the 7 minutes the brain is still active after death] from there they go up or down. This would have likely angered Lilith when she realized what Adam had done and taken from her. I imagine she got to create the physical plane for it, much like Luci did for hell...and wanted it to resemble a peaceful place. But Adam doesn't give her full control and drips his own image into it as well. In retaliation for that, Lilith makes a deal with Alastor: Turn Charlie into the Anti Christ and bring down Heaven. In return, she will give him Control of Hell. It wouldn't be hard to dispose of Luci, he's practically stepped down anyway. Charlie's fight with Heaven would likely Kill her [maybe a loophole for Charlie to go to Purgatory] so she also wouldn't be able to oppose the power Transition. anyway, just a theory I have.

I think that is referring to, Like the Alastor being the Axe-man theory and Baxter being a Titanic victim, there was a theory that Husker was a soldier who fought in the vietnam war.

26:47 The billboard clearly says "Welcome to Imp City, Second Circle", which IIRC would refer to Wrath not Pride. I think this must be a continuity error though as clearly sinners go to IMP HQ all the time. Perhaps the original intention was for Imp City to be in Wrath?

The rings of hell are separate from the circles of hell. The rings of hell are 7, one for each deadly sin. the circles of hell are cities in the pride ring so far, imp city being the second circle.

I know I already commented, but I was wondering if we will get a video about the concept of the "Unholy Trinity" with Lucifer, Satan and Beelzebub in the future, considering you often point that out. We don't have any indication of its actual canonicity in the two series, but there various details that could give it some credibility, most importantly regarding Satan and Beelzebub.

40:05 actually had that thought. see, Samael means the venom of god. weird al lucifer is not that. more so, we have a description from wikipedia of samael having 12 wings and being covered in eyes. the elder angel on the left during luu's song kinda matches up. it's possible that luu named hell after himself (Helel ben sachar), and that Samael might be an elder angel in heaven, one of his other interpretation of form being the grim reaper, though i am holding out for Cain on that one.
