Welcome to my debut video for both my channel, Asini Volanti, and the Russian Literature Guide playlist.
Today we are looking at Mikhail Bulgakov's whimsical tale, "The Heart of a Dog" (1925). This striking satire of Soviet life was banned for most of Bulgakov's life, but later released and adapted for the cinema, achieving world-wide fame.
We will look at the book itself and then move on to analyse some of its key themes, along with relevant quotes.
By the end, you should have a clear idea of the book's story and its intended message, along with some historical context!
Feel free to visit my blog, asinivolanti.wordpress.com/, where I write my own pieces of literature and poetry.
Kind regards,
George (Asini Volanti)
