Voiceplay has had drastic changes, from '97 until now the band became deformed and progressively became a different band ... but they never lost the harmonic magic, the musical and personal beauty and the individual and group talent that characterizes them. I'm pretty sure that while Earl's departure is very painful, in the long run both (Earl and current and / or future members of Voiceplay) are going to be happy. All changes hurt ... but when one door closes another opens: this is life. Thanks for everything Earl ... and long live Voiceplay !!

Earl quit, then J left for the Navy (hopefully will be back) and in return we got sassy Cesar, as well as introduced to amazing featured guests like Deejay Young, EJ and Omar Cardona, Ashley Diane, and Anthony Gargiula. Eli grew a beard and suddenly Rock-God Eli burst forth with a gritty wail. Layne discovered new portals into Hades from whence he conjures unearthly vocal sounds. Geoff hit a B0 and started a solo channel to bless us with double the musical goodness. Yes, change hurts... but look how far they have come!

I was sure this was Geoff's arrangement before I even read the description to confirm. The focus on gentle, slow harmonies is a clear trademark, while Layne is more theatrical. (both brilliant). This is so beautiful. I love that Layne's voice is so clear in it, and the emotion is very well communicated. Great song choice, too. Just sweet and perfect.

Why have I never heard of this piece before? You can hear the haunting melancholy in the notes. I lean my head against my wall and let it wash over me as I close my eyes and cry. Voiceplay’s cover’s is like a friend who taps you on the shoulder when they notice your turmoil and with open arms envelops you in the biggest hug ever so that you can lean in and just cry…..sob your heart out. You can feel the love exuding from the music. Seeing as this came out a while ago you may or may not see this, but I’m grateful you guys covered this because it gives me comfort especially with all the pain and anguish I’ve had to deal with the last seven years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me hope again.

Allow me to sum up the talents of voiceplay: Earl-though he's not is this video, his high notes are angelic and powerful, his "laser beam like" tone is so amazing. Thanks for singing in Voiceplay for all these years that we get to hear your precious voice. Eli-perfect riffs and runs. I personally love his masked head voice and belting a lot. I don't think I have to mention how beautiful Eli's voice is as every Voiceplay fan knows it. J-super smooth and solid voice. This really hit me today, as one of my pets isn’t going to make it through the day, and no vets nearby have openings. So I’ve been crying all morning, I’ve had him 18 years. Revisiting this today in the middle of some family hardships. I heard this song on my playlist earlier today, before it happened, and... I just had to watch it over again now. Things are really uncertain right now, and we're afraid of a potential loss. But... well, one thing that has been a comfort to me is the simple thought: nothing is lost. Not really. Not forever. Its very sad to see Earl go. I honestly never thought i'd see the day he wouldn't be in this group. I found the band back in January after seeing Home Free for the first time. But i think that if you wanted a good placement for the time being or maybe permanently, i think that y'all should give John Pinto a call. It's difficult to hold back the tears, keep a straight face, and record a song at the same time. Earl's friendship with Geoff and Layne went way, way back when they were still very young, and then with Tony, Eli and J years after so it's understandable. God, I wish there is a chance for them to reunite, even just for one song. They have a marvelous harmony, a great relationship together.

I listened to the song, and was just like, oh this is so beautiful, the beautiful harmonies, Layne's getting to sing, this is awesome, but where's Earl? Then I read the comments. Now I'm in tears. It's gonna be so hard imagining VoicePlay without Earl. I'm not sure I _can_ imagine it. I don't see very many comments requesting certain songs, but I've always fallen in love with your two-song mashups. As such, I think an awesome combination that you guys might be able to pull off really well is Someone Like You by Lewis Capaldi, and Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye. The general tempo and feel of the songs can probably be mixed quite nicely. For example, I think one of the transition points could be something like "Now I'm getting kinda used to being someone that you used to know." I haven't seen anyone else on youtube do a combination of these two, and I think it could probably be a good song for your 'audition' videos in testing out new VP candidates to fill Earl's space, much like Shape of You/ No Diggity. Love you guys!
