In the diary she’s been keeping since age 4, Eriko takes the pulse of the world, notes down the fragrances and hues of life, and pays a vibrant tribute to her mother, who bequeathed her a Kelly bag.
This peerless piece has a life of its own, that the young woman prolongs and honors at all times. Both a talisman and a keepsake, this sensitive leather haiku stands the test of time.

Welcome to the world of Hermès:
In 1837, Thierry Hermès opened his workshop making the finest quality harnesses and saddles in the heart of Paris.
Today, Hermès is still a family company whose craftspeople make, often by hand and always with love , bags and belts, diaries and dishes, scarves and shoes, perfumes and purses, ties and travelling furniture, as well as gloves, hats, watches, jewellery and clothes.

I love seeing how Hermes presents itself and what they want to represent over majority of the fans and the sales associates who see it more as a status symbol and clout. Then they find these type of people in a small corner of the world who value the memories and life the products can have from the quality they are build from. That's what truly makes the brand beautiful. Not the price tag and exclusivity.

i know right. i remember watching this video about some uber rich lady in Singapore with hundreds of kelly bags. This one makes the kelly bag much more special and carry so much meaning. i like how they used obviously regular people,,..not models or rich or famous. just regular people who rarely step into a hermes and when they do just buy a notebook or 1 kelly bag to last a lifetime

Again Hermes proves it is so much more than just a brand. I think Hermes objects should be used everyday and be part of their owner's life. I am not rich. My first purchase from Hermes was a single coffee cup and saucer. In a world full of disposable things I don't think Hermes is a luxury but a standard. Well done Hermes.

Really loved this segment. The thing is there's a lot of value in rejecting trends and consumerism and using objects (handbags) that are beautifully and skillfully crafted that you value. A lot of educated women value Hermes for this reason. However the problem I should think is obvious. The reality is a bag from Hermes is about 27k-180k, it's just never going to be affordable for most of us even with moderately to high paying jobs when in this economy you'd rather put that towards essentials like a house. There is no possible reason a bag should cost that much even if hand made, it's purely a greedy mark up. I'm 30 and earn 100k, the most I'll pay for an artisan bag is about $3000, I don't care for brand power, only quality and I will use it forever. Hermes no doubt will always have celebrities and old money clients but the point is you guys are really missing out on a huge market here. The problem with luxury brands is if they make something of a lesser price point it is absolutely crap quality and most women are not slaves to brands like that, we aren't stupid and will avoid it like the plague. Anyway I still appreciate Hermes for its authenticity and craftsmanship from a distance.

Could be a daughter-to-mother idea. Before I moved to New York, even now, I can’t remember what kind of bag I used to use. In my memories, my mom never had her own handbag or even a single jewelry, she is always a housewife, all she used to have was her pockets and nylon bag, or backpack that we shared with my dad. Then I sent her my handbags that I didn’t use any more, she was happy a bit for the first time she knew what was a leather bag (they were coach, MK, actually). Up to now she still says, thanks to me she knew how to recognize Dior, Chanel or Hermès, or some of luxury and affordable brands for handbag even though she doesn’t deserve to have them. It’s not important for her to have a handbag, because it’s just a bag, she’s not a working woman, not a show-off or fashion or party or outdoor person, but to be curious about stories around the world such as the stories of some unbelievable expensive handbags is also a kind of topic we talk about, at least, the two generations of mother and daughter can chat and keep our long-distant connection.
