I'm a Somali, and axmad guray is our hero. we learned about his history in schools, and there is a status of him in ethiopia even.

as a person from Ethiopia I know there are many historical places in Ethiopia since the time of Imam Ahmed Geragne (Gurai). There is a place called terrara Geragn (Geragn’s Mount) in the Northern regions. It is understood that the valley was used during the Guray Axmed military site he uses to reign on territories from his forts on the hilltops.

I thought it was a Puntland flag TBH. I'm not afraid of admitting a mistaken identity. But I think the delusion of Djibouti and even with Somaliland as having totally free governments, how do you still respect the colonial borders? I've been to Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya and all the other "Somali" territories. I've never seen a more patriotic Somalis as the Somali people of Kenya and Ethiopia in Jigjiga. The rest of us have a sort of Bipolar or Split personalities. Feet on both sides doing whatever is comfortable for the master. I don't think you know the expression of popping one's bubble 😅. I'm free from colonialism and hence not trapped in a fantasy or the illusion of a "free" and independent state. We're all one phone call and a coup d'état away from anarchy. Geele is a good boy though.

Furthermore, the ruling dynasty was more than likely Somali as shown by the successor of gurey, his nephew who was a Somali from the marehan tribe with his descendants still living today in Somalia

Just to correct you there was 2 Ahmed’s. Ahmed Ibn Ibrahim Al-ghazi who was the Imam (Leader of Adal) And Ahmed Hussain GURAY. Who was the leader of the Habar Magaadle tribe that first responded to the Imams Call for war against Abyssinia. They were two different people often confused as been the same.

Correction, Ahmed Guray was born in Zeila and managed to captured Harar who were also somali territories and he reached the border with Sudan and teach the ethiopian evaders the raw meat which they eat till today. He was somali ethnic from zeila.

Imam Ahmad was born around 1507 in Zeila[25] or in the district of Hubat located between Zeila and Harar, around the current town of Fugnan Bira.[26] Ahmed initially lived in Harar during the reign of Sultan Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad but due to the Sultans unislamic rule, he left to Hubat.[26] He married Bati del Wambara, the daughter of Mahfuz, governor of Zeila.[14] When Mahfuz was killed returning from a campaign against the Ethiopian emperor Lebna Dengel in 1517, the Adal sultanate lapsed into anarchy for several years, until Imam Ahmad killed the last of the contenders for power and took control of Harar. In retaliation for an attack on Adal the previous year by the Ethiopian general Degalhan, Imam Ahmad invaded Ethiopia in 1529, supplementing his force with considerable numbers muskets purchased from the Ottomans, which would panick the Ethiopian troops. Although his troops were fearful of their opponents and attempted to desert upon news that the Ethiopian army was approaching, Imam Ahmad maintained the discipline of most of his men, defeating Emperor Lebna Dengel at Shimbra Kure that March.[27] The Ethiopian troops were panicked by his firearms.
