It's the ones who fell in love with Altair and Ezio are who truly appreciate the core values of what used to make this series so great. We in sense grew up with Ezio from his birth until his death, and now we're experiencing the birth and possibly the death of Assassin's Creed.

I think her character is the only one that truly deserved a rendition of Ezio's theme. The theme could've embodied what Ezio passed down to her. Ezio's theme could've been more meaningful and personalized, but now it's just a theme for every assassin no matter where they're from. Like you said, it would've been nice to have a more meaningful journey with her. So sad she doesn't have a mainline game. I think she would've been a nice character to explore off the heels of Ezio. Just start the game with the events of Embers to act as a tutorial. We could say one last goodbye to Ezio and it'll be a bridge into a new story.

the canon connection (partially in my opinion) is that, An abstergo agent, likely Otso Berg, was going through archives trying to track the box ever since they saw it in Shay Cormac's memories. They knew Ezio had it at a point in his life and tracked it through any assassins he had come into contact with with led them to Shao Jun. After following her memories they continued researching what happened to the box until they discovered it resurfacing in India, leading to Chronicles India. Finally they had to track it again through Russia, but at the same time wanted to see how the box reacted to other pieces of Eden, discovering that the box created a sort of Bleeding Effect on Anastasia making her believe she was Shao Jun. The final cutscene reveals that Abstergo (or at least that specific scientist) wanted the box for Project Phoenix, which was a plan to fully revive Juno into a new body

Showing how these games actually explain a lot of the in depth info as well as them canonically speaking tying so to speak. Shao inherited the box from Ezio/His passing (Assassin creed ember bleeding into Assassin creed china) she’s loses Arbaaz some 295-298 Yrs late in 1841 tracks it down (Assassin creed India) which in a way branches off to syndicate due to Evie & Jacob being of his lineage. Chronicles is always so satisfying when you pull off a section perfectly and get that gold rating. Not a big fan of getting a lower rank if you assassinate non-targets but when you get to your target and can finally just kill him, it's a great pay off. Russia is probably my favorite of the three despite the weird Shao Jun possession plot line, but my god do I hate India with a passion. China has its difficult sections that might take a few attempts but if I needed to restart I knew it was my fault. India felt like most sections were trail and error, having timed section that you need to know the path beforehand to actually pull it off. Amazing video as always, looking forward to what you create next!

19:13 Tbf ac2 does have persistent blending. I actually tested it recently. Without using crowds, I figured out that guards meters fill up faster when Ezio is in high profile or is close to them as opposed to walking and being far away from them. You can even see detection meters drastically fill up faster when going from standing completely still and not pressing any buttons to just pressing high profile and standing still. TLDR ac2 guard detection is based around your actions like the first game but also distance from guards themselves.
@LazerzZ Жыл бұрын
Yeah to be fair, I suppose I’ve been a bit unfair because you’re right the ezio trilogy does treat the detection meters full differently depending on high vs low profile. I think how AC1 does it is still ultimately deeper as a system, but there are elements of it in the ezio trilogy for sure. I think the main difference is that you can’t be detected in AC2 unless you’re notorious or in a mission that makes you notorious, whereas in AC1 you’re always on guard which makes detection and blend more important to consider. So you can spend most of AC2 just running around unless you never tear down a poster.
@yodaddyrc1220 Жыл бұрын
@@LazerzZ I agree, it’s way more simplified in ac2 and it’s mostly cuz the notoriety system isn’t well implemented. Ac1 notoriety is probably the best way to keep the player on their toes. But if we are in control of notoriety, then I think we should retain ac1 social stealth but also implement AC3 like notoriety. I know this might be a hot take, but ac3 actually makes you feel as tho the city is constantly responding to your actions and it gets harder to navigate as enemies get more vigilant and reactive to your presence. Idk if it was executed as well as it could’ve been, but imo I think it was going in the right direction.

Kinda curious: why do you think ACC India or Russia were "dogshit"? I thought India's setting (with great, colourful art), music and story were quite fun and unique. AC Russia has this sense of urgency and grim feeling to it that you don't often get in AC imo & the difficulty caused by the AI using modern tools (mainly guns, tanks, etc.) were quite challenging and fun as well (+ the sniper was fun to use in an AC game). I'd rank the games as follows: ACC India > ACC China > ACC Russia, the first 2 being in this order only because I loved India's art more than China's. Not looking to prove a point or argue, just curious to hear why you or other people may have viewed these 2 games as "dogshit" as opposed to ACC China.

So like yeah there is humour to a video championing the game's quality spend the first stretch destroying the story but also the shadow/assassin/brawler playstyle sounds like the options hitman gives you, no? Eliminating only targets and remaining undetected, being a bit more liberal with kills or just guning everything down but punishing the combat option. Same options as given in the dishonoured games which are probably a better comparison given the tools and approach. Great vid as always though james, although thats 3 positive ac vids in one year which must feel wretched for you

yeah the ranking system is VERY Hitman, I did make that comparison in my head but never wrote it down for some reason. A lot of the best stealth games give you different rewards for different options. Thanks for the kind words and, y'know it's nice to be positive, at least about the good ones, feels better than constantly shitting on stuff I hate 😂

Just give Shao Jun a full fledged game that’s not 2d and make Ezio return as a side character

Mirage is a bit of an absolute banger isn’t it … that I was certainly not expecting, at all. Shocked .. if every game was like mirage it would be a great series across the board. Every part of ACM Gameplay loop is hitman like from detection, mission style, to NPC’s shoutout at guards to chase Basim .. easily top 6 AC game with BF and golden 4 first games. I’m shocked with Bordeaux … it feels AC , Baghdad is an incredible location for an AC game; on a low budget with 2 year development did a pretty good job there. It doesn’t feel like an assasins coat of paint. It feels the AC vibes r fundamental to its gameplay fabric but also the story too, certainly it is about an assasin journey, not ashamed to be AC. Shows Assassins at its core is a great concept. If only … Montreal Ubisoft we’re like this particular smaller team Jesus

We are gonna need that last of us 2 rant soon ... Remember is a good game but it's not a last of us game sequel.

I'm not a Star Wars fan so what is it exactly? Is it the disconnect between corporate management and the fans?

I've been thinking, what if the other actress sounds different is because she speaks in her native language and they just present it to us like it's English?

Opens vid, skips to gameplay section, hears “this game has a ranking system” and quits. When will developers realize how many of us don’t want to be graded by our entertainment?
@LazerzZ Жыл бұрын
See, the thing is, lots of people do like this, especially in game with a high skill ceiling. It's nice to be able to rise the ranks, to see your skill level get higher and higher as you achieve better medals and overcome the challenge of the game. If you don't like that, fair enough, but that's personal taste, not the fault of the game trying to achieve something that there is a large audience for.
