You speak of Elune dwelling within the Shadowlands reminds me of the sun looking orb at the heart of Death on the cosmology map. In Greek mythology there is a story of Helios, God of the sun, threatening to leave to Hades and shine upon the death there out of outrage that his sacred cattle had been slaughtered to honor other gods. An'she? Helios and Apollo are sometimes interchangeable in Greek mythology, why do I bring that up? Well, Korthia could be a reference to korthi an island of the greek Cyclades. The mythology behind these islands is rich and includes Anafi which was created by Apollo to aid Odysseus on his return from the Trojan war and served as a refuge for him during bad weather. Apollo, himself, has a history within the Cyclades. When he was an infant, he was hidden on Delos to protect him from the wrath of Hera and her jealously of the tryst between her husband Zeus and Apollos' mother that resulted in his conception. Korthia seems to serve as similar purpose in the Shadowlands, hiding and keeping safe ancient secrets (and peoples). Interestingly, Apollo is the god of oracles like the Oracle at Delphi, the legendary soothsayer, sited on at the location where Apollo slew Python, the serpent/dragon monster. Python guarded a sacred stone that represents the overthrowing of the Titans by Zeus and his Olympians. I, personally, see a similarity between this egg shaped stone and the Orphic Egg entwined by a serpent. The Orphic Egg is the cosmic egg that bore Phanes, a being of light and goodness. Azeroth? A snake motif is seen in Oribos and on the armor of the Eternal Traveler. Also, I'm going to point out that Apollo is the twin sibling of Artemis, goddess of the moon and the hunt. He is the god of sun/sunlight. He is also god of shepherds. Korthia could be real interesting and illuminating. The cosmology map also suggests that the Shadowlands are not in realm of death but rather tied to Azeroth (and the greater reality) as some kind of cyclic system. What if Oribos was created as a means to redirect the death away from the plane of Death and to the artifice that is the Shadowlands? What if the natural destination of souls upon their demise is Death (the Maw) and the First Ones and the Eternal Ones have interfered with this natural order? The Titans interfered with life on countless planets across the universe.

This some amazing research and the connections made are awesome. I've known about Apollo for a while but this connects the irl stories to the lore, so much better than I have been able to. I agree with basically all of this deduction and can see most of these connection being on point or very very close. And yeah, that is definitely a possibility I've been tossing up for a while... (Shadowlands = safety net against true death. Or something like that.) ... the problem I'm having is reconciling all the info out there (from lore to interviews), because most of it seems to be contradictory. I stress seems though because there a few lines that work but if true, a lot of other out there theories need to be true as well.

@@thedreadexpanse3817 Thanks! I know I was inelegant in how I explained my thoughts (phones suck for editing) but I appreciate the kind words. Blizzard's lore is seldom crystalline as it has to bend to the needs of the game but much of it stays within certain boundaries. One of those boundaries is the mythologies of antiquity; Blizzard cribs quite liberally from those ancient beliefs. A deep dive into those stories always yields new analogs and parallels to things in WoW lore. Take the odd stars with a shell in each corner of that cosmology map. Does that symbolize something akin to Venus, the goddess of pretty much everything feminine? Venus is usually depicted on a shell, but Venus is also a planet and was one of the more important stars in the sky in many ancient civilizations due to its relative brightness. If those shells and stars represent a power within WoW, who or what is it? Why are they on that map with references to four fundamental magical forces entangled around them with streaks emitting out from them? It can be maddening to decipher the meaning of these things but it is also a helluva good time.

Also, the "Eternal Ones", pretty much looks like titans. They were talking about a "Titan Homeworld", and I don't think this is it, but these could just be titans. They all look quite similar, only Denathrius with his horns and hooves, and I guess you could argue the differences, but then again they all have their thing. Though I can't help but wonder if the Jailer looks the most default, and that the hole wasn't by original design?

Awesome theory. BTW have you thought about the sunwell, like what it was before the elves took over it. Could that be ancient titan stuff or maybe the prison of anshe.. prolly not though lol
@thedreadexpanse38173 жыл бұрын
Oh trust me the Sunwell has been on my mind for ages now. Ever since the revelations about Zandalar's overall connection to the titans, the 3 seals of Zandalar, and Kings rest, I've been convinced there has been some form of titan facility somewhere in that part of the world. The Sun Well specifically because prior to the elves the trolls treated the area as sacred. (From memory I'm pretty sure it was place for their dead)

@maureenbouterse3 жыл бұрын
A soon as you showed the Jailer's crystal and the gem of Elune, my mind blanked. Duude... It can be interpreted as a deeper connection existing between Zovaal, Ardenweald, the Winter Queen and the ascension of the dark trolls into night elves as you went into in your 2 hour + vid. Overall, I would like there to be a deeper connection between the Shadowlands and Azeroth, almost in the same way there exists with the Emerald Dream. It expands the possibilities almost limitlessly while also forging connections with multiple Shadowlands realms.
@HavocHounds19883 жыл бұрын
I think it's possible Azeroth was a First One that was for some reason placed in a sort of stasis inside of a planet, maybe to be kept safe from Zovaal as I speculate that the betrayal he did was an all out attack on the First Ones.

I love your videos, but it’s like watching people theorycraft Wandavision only did it to turn out there is no Mephisto, nightmare, and Quicksilver is just some dude. I wish you were writing for Blizzard, but you give the current writing staff way too much credit 😂 I do think you might be on to something though, because a Blizz is definitely setting the Drust up to play a large role in the Tyrande patch, which will also introduce Elune as the Winter Queens sister and tie all those threads together and wrap up the Ardenweald story, so I’m excited to see if it plays out the way you think. Remember Xal’atath refers to Elune as an upstart goddess, ie; rose in importance suddenly and is very arrogant beyond their actual status. I do not think Elune predates the Void, light, or first ones. I think Elune is just an eternal that revelled against the first ones, light, and void and forged her own path.

Nerzhul cannot control him and Nerubs, because of influence of Yogg.. if i remember this correctly. Anub'arak fell under domination of Nerzhul after he was killed and ressurected. Is Possible when Anub died, he got to Maw where he meet Zovaal?? Then he was "somehow" returned to Azeroth to support Arthas who became Lichking??.. Btw.
