This is probably the most ambitious video I've made so far, but that's not saying much considering how simple this video still is. I'm happy with the end result though, and I want to keep putting more effort into my videos overall, so you can expect even more and even better videos from me with time.
All music used in this video is from OMORI, Stardew Valley, and Mother 3.

Wow, okay I knew this video would do well, but not this well. I guess you guys really like this kind of content then, which is great because I love to make videos like this. You can expect to see more JoJo videos like this in the future then, as well as some video essays on other games I like as well. I've already started writing the script for my next JoJo video so I hope to get that out relatively soon, and I'm gonna keep doing small gameplay videos in between just to have something fill the time gap in between the major video essays. Thank you for all the support!

Remember that sometimes it isn't just people liking the content; it could've been arbitrarily promoted by the algorithm as well. Loved the presentation and especially the thumbnail personally, but remember not to directly attribute the view count with the quality of the video

I really can't understand why people hate Fugo so much when, for the most part, he ended up being right. Half of the gang died and it took a literal miracle for them to even get to Diavolo. I felt sad for his decision but understood it from the very beginning, and I liked the character even more after reading Purple Haze Feedback. Both it and Golden Heart Golden Ring really shine a light on his motivations, even though PHF created a different reason for him to beat up his teacher

I think the thing with Fugo is that unlike most of the cast, he never found his determination. Bruno found this when he first encountered Girono. Abbacco had two encounters early on that cemented his loyalty to Bruno, and even demonstrated his skill in entering the Mirror World. Mista basically is basically either directly supporting the other cast, or is actively demonstrating his determination in pretty much every other episode. Out of everyone, he and Abba were likely Bruno's most reliable assets Narancha, despite being relatively inexperienced, shows his determination against little feet, and finally finds his determination when he found out that Trish had been abandoned like him Girono starts off as a kind-hearted kid who had to act cruel, and despite being incredibly inexperienced, was able to fake it until he made it. Unlike most Jojo's, he didn't really excel at direct combat. Even Trish was at the very heart of the arc and in many ways, stood in for the people the boss would actively hurt to consolidate his power. Fugo though? He had one arc which he was basically rescued, was a man in conflict with his own heart and thus could only rely on cold reason. Fugo exists to show us that the decision to betray the boss was not a logical decison, but something only characters who had made peace with themselves could embark on. Furthermore, only Girono and Bruno knew from the start that their intention was to betray the boss, so in a very literal sense Bruno had already betrayed Fugo's choice and likely would've contributed to Fugo attempting to eliminate him, had Araki continued that original story line. But as it was? Fugo had no stakes in this race, hadn't made peace with himself as he never conquered his own stand and his intelligence wasn't useful as Giorno basically filled the same role without any of the emotional baggage. Ultimately, his departure kinda showed that the road these people were taking wasn't smart or reasonable, but one taken with passion and determination. Fugo was right as most of those who stepped on that boat had died or were already dead. Just I feel very neutral about him because he never really endeared himself to me as a character, which is the issue with having such a large core cast of characters.

I see that, especially the fact there is this video call: If Fugo Actually Uses Purple Haze In this video, it is what if Fugo uses Purple Haze more often. When Abbacchio told Giorno Fugo's stand, Giorno compliment him by saying how useful he is in missions. That motivate him, which not only lead into him joining the betray, but also make it without any teammate dying. That is what could happen if Fugo gotten motivation, which lead into his determination. But atlas, that didn't happened, which causes for Fugo to back off the group, because he didn't have his determination.

In Fugo's defense, half the gang died fighting against the boss and they only knew Trish for what, a day? Two days? Fugo really is a creature of logic and his logic was sound. However, I was very sad when Fugo chose to part with everyone. I wanted to see how Fugo could further his character development, especially when it came to his anger. I am not sure what he could have done to contribute to the rest of the part, but it would have been cool to see it. The whole traitor thing... If it had happened, I would want Narancia to fight Fugo, not Giorno or Buccarati. Narancia could also have more development too in that regard. Lowkey I am glad it didn't go down that way. Great video btw.

That I think would lead better into his decision to quit the gang and go back to school. On account of him realizing what undying loyalty can lead you too. Sure, we know Bruno would *never* order him to kill another member of the team. But how could Narancia be certain of that? Narancia would be forced to reevaluate his attitude towards leadership and make a hard decision too just break away all on his own, and of his own accord.

I feel like Fugos departure would’ve been fine if they better defined what his role was in Bruno’s team in the anime, thus having him leave add some scenes and characters lines and thought processes showing them struggle to adapt on their own with hole fugo, especially towards the people he was closest too (narancia, abbachio and Bruno). In little ways like Bruno doing a rolecall and instinctively calling fugo’s name and stopping himself twice occasionally and correcting himself. Or have most of the team be taken out in a fight and force narancia balance thinking more pragmatic and logically and dealing with some of the secretive dirty things that come with defying diavolo. (Stolen with hindsight from Phf but fugo’s role was to ground the gang and think purely logically and deal with the some of the morally darker things the other members couldn’t handle) Maybe take a slight little from golden heart and golden ring/PHF but remove stuff like fugo actually helping the team from behind the scenes, PHF works better as a movie/ova than actual episode of GW. And lastly just give him a final scene of him playing piano somewhere and breaking down alone as news reaches back to him that everyone’s dead and that giornos the boss. Or at least amidst that shot of mista and trish returning to the colosseum, they could’ve had a shot of fugo walking alone somewhere else to show how melancholic giornos win actually is. I got this based on advice on how to handle departed party members in DND btw But I feel it’s rooted less in characters dying or leaving and more in them not having defined roles beforehand and never being mentioned afterwards. This is an issue most have with the crusaders that aren’t Jotaro (unpopular opinion but I think iggy’s role is fine the way it was because it fit his character)

I always thought it was completely reasonable that not everybody would have the courage to betray their boss. I like how Fugo just goes off the radar instead of becoming an enemy as well. It shows that he morally agrees with his former colleagues but values his own well being first. It feels consistent with his character to me. I think it would have been nice for the gang to have referenced Fugo again, or have scenes with Fugo either being conflicted in his choice or reaffirming it.

I never thought about the scene where he looks up at aerosmith’s final flight in the way you did, thank you for sharing. I was maybe 15 when golden wind came out, and I think the scene of Fugo lashing out at Narancia was incredibly relatable, the anger he felt when Naranica didn’t get it and feeling frustrated that Narancia wasn’t trying hard enough is very normal for a incoming high schooler who is still developing, and Fugo definitely didn’t have the support I did to overcome it. Fugo to me is another tragic story that Jojo’s loves throwing out, he doesn’t get his happy ending, not because he isn’t resolved enough, but because he made a choice based on his past experiences.

Fugo is one of my favorites in Part 5, as I find him to be so interesting compared to everyone else in the cast. That being said, the What-if scenario on *if* Fugo went with them on that boat, also would have given Abbacchio a chance to survive, as he wouldn't have been left alone on the beach when Bucciarati and Narancia dipped out to see the end result of Risotto's battle with the boss. Even the fight with Talking Head might have ended way faster, as Fugo could have picked up on something being wrong before anyone else, being so close with Narancia. Another thing I do really like about Fugo, that not many people bring up, is that he is kind. He didn't have to go out of his way to help Narancia, to get him fed and brought to Bucciarati and be taken to the hospital to be cured. Fugo knew Bucciarati was also very kind, and would have no problem with helping a random kid like that. And to keep trying to teach Narancia, despite the discourse that it usually leads to, is still very nice of him. He doesn't have to, but he wants Narancia to do better in life. We also never see him really snapping at Mista, as the two have some well balanced respect for each other, which is also nice to see for Fugo. Not everything triggers him into a rage, and Mista knows when to back off before that top overflows. I personally wouldn't want to see the "Fugo is a spy" route, only because I don't want him to die. We got some spin-off manga/novels, from Golden Heart Golden Ring and Purple Haze Feedback, and both are interesting takes on what could have taken place after Fugo left.

Giorno's age is kind of relevant to me because I think it shows how he represents the very young section youth of the generation that is being threatened by diavolo's organisation and so he has to be the change but other than that, I agree he didn't need to be that young

I like your take on Fugos character! It certainly gave me a few new things to think about. If you enjoy Vento Aureo / Fugo I highly recommend reading Purple Haze Feedback. Many people regard it as an amazing novel about Fugo. It really explores his character much more and also adds much more to the end of part 5. Obviously PHFB is not written by Araki therefore not fully canon but it’s very highly regarded in the fandom. I very much love your comparison between Giorno and Fugo . Many fans often tell that they are parallels of Life and Death. I love your idea of Giorno being more of an optimist while Fugo is a pessimist. Giorno tried to heal while Fugo tried to repress. Both are absolutely beautiful characters. Linking back to PHFB, Fugo has a lot of character development that he was denied in Vento Aureo. He’s given a second chance and proves himself. He overcomes his fears and in turn develops his stand further. On the topic of Fugos stand, I think it’s one of the most personal and telling stands of the entire series. The anime producers clearly thought hard of his backstory as they found a way to link his stand into it. How? This is all my speculation and opinion but Purple Haze’ barred mouth represents not being able to speak up about his abuse, sexual and mental. Many real victims find it near impossible to share their story. Purple Haze’ obsession of being clean could be in connection to his SA trauma, As he feels he’ll be forever stained of this. Like dirt that never washes off. Purple Haze, visor could also be there in an attempt to hide or cover himself. Both his ‘taintedness’ and his anger issues. Fugo character overall is so very detailed and I could go in depth for much longer. We have only touched the tip of the iceberg my friend…

great vid! i personally don't agree with wanting araki to go through with him as a traitor though! i think the canon route is a lot more effective in telling the story. him being a traitor would undermine our perception of fugo, bucciarati, or both, as him betraying them would give the impression that bucciarati was not really as respected by his team as he seems to be, fugo an unswayable servant to him, and fugo having truer friends than he's ever had in this squad. his canon way of "betrayal" of staying behind is more in line with the characters of bucciarati and fugo we know. the only time fugo would ever be in disagreement with bucciarati is in this situation of logic so clearly going against bucciarati's actions and bucciarati so adamant in the decision being their own alone. i also think having a member stay behind was the perfect decision in setting the tone of the second half. having such a devout follower of bucciarati-the perceived first member to join bucciarati-stay behind makes the reality of bucciarati's betrayal more grave and the danger of the situation sink in. it sets up the deaths of the other members. not a criticism, just wanted to analyze and offer a different opinion:) i love how you mention giorno and fugo being foils for one another, as even their stands are polar opposites, one being life the other death. the foil between them is why i love purple haze feedback! i think giorno and fugo can understand each other on a level no one else in the group can understand them and that's why i love giorno bringing him back into the fold and his speech about carrying the guilt alongside fugo. if you don't know anything about purple haze feedback i totally recommend reading a summary at least, it's a great addition to fugo's character!

Come to think of it, Fugo not having a backstory in the manga makes complete sense If he was a traitor from the start, we'd likely get a backstory later, on his upbringing and how he met the Boss/Diavolo and came to work for him as a higher ranking person - or someone who had to prove himself. When he'd be sent to keep an eye on Bucciarati & see what kind of a man he was, Fugo's mind would end up swaying. His loyalty to the Boss is now questioned, is he following the right man? Should he switch sides? In a sense, while others stayed loyal to Bruno, Fugo stayed loyal too - just that his loyalty lies within a different character, the Boss. It'd certainly have bee something to see, the swaying of one's resolve, taking control of your own life, the weight of your decisions - but as viewed through the eyes of someone not fully part of the main cast. Who knows where it could have taken him. Maybe Fugo could have rejoined the gang, and ended up dying as a result. This way, he'd have broken loyalty to the Boss, but it was his own choice to take his life in that direction. Whether he'd regret changing sides in the end and meeting a cruel end, or embrace that this was all a result of a choice he had made while knowing the possibilities and having no regrets - that's to be left to the writer to decide which they'd prefer Dang now this is reminding me of a character I've got for my planned Fan Part lol. A character who's a part of the main group, a person who spies on them and reports to the antagonist while the rest are unaware, and then later when time comes to choose between the group or their boss, the person chooses the boss. Conflict ensues and what have you. The main gang will confront this character again later on though, have a bit of closure as to why they did what they did. I suppose there's a fun connection between the main group working for the antagonist at first too, like in Part 5 haha~ I didn't really think of that. It's a little different though, as the JoJo is practically the adopted son of the main antagonist and works directly under his order at the start of the part, whereas Giorno didn't have that personal of a connection to Diavolo like ever, other than hating what the other allowed the gang to do

I really love this video, jojo’s bizarre adventure is my favorite anime series ever and how you said some people can connect with particular characters that’s me with Fugo, Weather, and Gappy. I see Fugo representing my high school days and how I experienced it being kind and reasonable always on the surface and bottling up my anger and rage till it naturally built up and explodes while trying to be the nice guy to how I wasn’t able to move on like my friends what what I wanted to do with life , weather showed my severe depression and the anger and rage kinda brought over and I just wanted to die from losing contact with friends no matter how hard I stayed connected, didn’t have any idea I wanted career wise, and tried to hide it and broke down crying when no one could see me. Gappy represents hope to me, hope after almost 3 years of therapy and medication I’m starting to feel self confident and feel like I can be happy for myself, not my parents or lover choice. As well I see Gappy and Fugo having quite similar personalities. I feel I’ve had to pick up the pieces of my old life and hobbies and the one friend that stuck around with pursing my EPC degree at technical school and making new memories in general. The point I’m trying to make is tho I see these characters heavily in certain sections of my life character traits carried over and were evolved and for Fugo I was able to keep my kind heart and reasoning but channel anger in a more positive manner and not overthinking much when reasoning.

Although Giorno is my favorite character in Part 5, I feel like I relate to Fugo the most. I have both an intelligent side and a more emotional side, and have faced strife from the two conflicting with each other.

Love your VDO and thank you for bringing Fugo to light (he's my favorite character of part 5 though). One thing I would mention here is that Giorno and Fugo were born in the same year as stated by Araki. It is just that Vento Aureo began and ended just about a week before Giorno's 16th birthday. So basically Giorno is only 1-3 months younger than Fugo.

I understand his decision, and as he has to- accept the consequences that came with him leaving. The only thing I really care about is I wish we got more with him in the epilogue regarding Narancia death (although I did love him looking up at Narancia spirit in the sky) and his possible redemption.

finally someone talks about cheese boy! I actually even made a fan manga because it frustrated me back then when i watched part 5 for the first time that there was so much wasted potential with fugos character. If youre interested i would be really glad if you would take a look at it by chance, its uploaded on my channel and sadly it didnt blew up like i hoped :/ This is not meant as some push for my channel i just thought it would be fitting to tell you about it because youre the first that appreciates fugo that much ^^

Well, in the end, he was right. Most of them ended up dead, they did it for the right cause but in life nothing ever goes as planned, especially in the jojo universe and bucciarati, narancia and abbacchio payed the ultimate price. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of the original spy idea, but what would make it perfect is if diavolo would order him to kill the group shortly after they became traitors, and in the end they'd have to clash, it would either end up in his death or perhaps even a change of heart, maybe then he would've used his emotion's to guide him going forward. Man, I really need to read purple haze feedback...

I still feel like since Giorno created an anti virus for purple haze, they could’ve been an insanely strong duo when you think about it. Giorno and fugo could’ve taken out all of la Squadra by themselves, Easily. Except maybe baby face fight which Giorno should only fight 1 on 1 to evolve his stand. Giorno and fugo on the train ez clap, vs white album fight fugo could’ve easily won by throwing the virus at him entering his air hole, he could’ve stayed with Abachio and they would’ve had to fight the boss and probably win ending the show early, fugo could’ve probably figured out when narancia was fighting the gay couple that he was being more stupid than he already is because he helps narancia a lot and probably has a pretty good understanding of narancia. Chocolata and rock swim man he could’ve completely blocked parts off where rock swim man could appear, or with chocolata vs Giorno, him and Giorno could’ve won that fight much faster than before. And versus the boss idk what he could do except be a hindrance to pretty much everyone except Giorno. Yk? He could’ve done so much for the team. But eh it is what it is

Yeah I've actually been considering doing a video on Tooru, cause I do think there is more than meets the eye to him. I'll have to re-read JoJolion though before I do that since I haven't read the first half in a pretty long time. That and I'm still kinda hoping that part 9 also will add a bit of extra context to his character, but that's pretty unlikely I think, so I might do a video on Tooru.
