I would also just encourage people to play with the setting to find their Own preferences. Play styles can be improved in different ways. It's a huge topic I can't even begin to explain further unless I make a video

That literally doesn't help me whatsoever. Because what I want is for the game to bloody run smoothly. I have yet to accomplish that since starting the game in 2014.

I have most thing set to high but shadows turned off. Game still looks pretty good and even in big fights I still get around 60-72 fps. Bit on the lower side, but it's playable.

small tipp if you dont like the black smoke produced by this settings , you can set up ParticleLOD=0 ParticleDistanceScale=0 make read only and then whenever you start game turn them to ultra if you need the extra distance scaling for your particles . With this you avoid the issue having black particles

Could not find the particle FOV option. Tried the search function Ctrl F but never found it. Regular FOV is set to 100. I'm a veteran but on PS5 version of Planetside 2 and starting to play on PC as the game has not had an update in almost a year.

I take it changing your performance options affects how the rest of your computer runs? That's a steep order just to get a few more fps for ps2.

How does the rate of fire tie to the frame rate? Does it actually lower the rate of fire, or just the visual effects of rate of fire? And thank you for the vid, I had mouse acceleration on never even heard of the FOV thing

I recall a reddit post with some exhaustive testing done a few years ago and yeah there's a fairly brutal correlation between 30vs120 fps and higher rps guns (which would also harm TR more overall), about a 15% reduction in effective dps if I remember right. Obviously that -shouldn't- be happening but it's yet another one of Planetsides' weird engine quirks. Whether this is still true or not, I'm unsure.

I believe it has to do client side hit reg coupled with the servers tick rate. If ur client side fps are lower then the servers tick rate high roof weapons will have poor hit reg. And on a ha vs ha fight the outcome being determined by 1 missed bullet haveing poor hit reg can be very detrimental

fov is a personal thing. saying fov under 84 shouldn't be played at is just wrong. there are plenty players that play at 80 or lower. it's just personal preference and high and low fov each have their pros and cons.

@@ZealousVidya Let me elaborate a bit on that. High fov makes recoil less visible but also makes heads smaller, added benefit is that you see more altho I think that's a very minor benefit as you have a minimap and if you're even slightly experienced you don't need the extra visibility. I think the points you make in the video are very good however and helpful to many players that never heard of these things and want to improve in some way.

Ensure that the crosshair mod is enabled! I don't have any knowledge on the scoreboard :)

IMO if you ever have a problem: reinstall planetside If that doesnt work - Reistall Windows Take it from me, it takes too long to bother trying to fix problems, it's almost always faster to just reset.

While I agree with the higher fov, I k ow a couple players that have 4 kd+ that run a lower fov than the in game max (74 if I remember right). Also you never showed people how to change the "innie"

if you really wanna go try hard, you can change the script in the codes, so you dont have exsplosives an smoke to get a high fps tried it out 3-4 years ago, but takes a lot of the visual candy away

There are other ways to get a crosshair on your screen. I use rainmeter and drew up my own crosshair. Not super useful honestly except when my eyes get tired and I can't see the pure black scope crosshairs. Nothing but snipers and scout rifles are accurate enough for it to matter that much. I guess there's vehicle third person, but that's not super accurate either because the weapons take a bit of time to turn and center. Otherwise you do need to play around with the settings to get it smooth and all, and depending on if it bothers you, tone down how hard it taxes your gpu, damned fans go like a leaf blower if I let it go full tilt.

I think I saw you play today, if its the same guy, I literally had zero chance to even fire back, I was dead instantly every time, even with a heavy plus shield. I was getting really mad cos you were completely impossible to hit or even see. If I did see you I was dead a nanosecond later.... :(

that last video shows you have no recoil affecting your aim, why is that, if you dont play with internal code or abuse cheat engine, care to explain? i like new updates , but people figure out the offsets too easily, and to compete with these dalton libtards who i know are aimbotters(i had them in my lib from time to time) i can give them the worst possible shots , but they will still land them and then say " OH MY GOD , LETS GOOOOOOOOO" , and all i can do is wait for the tells, and they come in flocks.

You havent even seen best of best probably as they are really often on alts or dont play live anymore, live play is annoying bc of community thats why "cheaters" often fight on Jeager where people actually respect skill and improvement idea.
