I don't get why he would get those shots if he hated supplements so much. All Vitamin supplements are far safer than the shots.

I don't know that we can conclude this was the cause. There would need to be an autopsy with spike staining, and my understanding is that John said long ago he wanted no autopsy when he died one day. I imagine his family honored his wishes.
