If you want to lose weight, your body has to burn fat. Your body will burn off carbs and sugar first before you begin burning fat.

Been vegan, mainly raw fruit based with lot's of leafy greens, active, very little cooked vegan foods. Add nuts and seeds to my salads. Do I need to discontinue adding nuts and seeds to my vegan diet? 65 year old active male. Nuts and seeds are healthy fats, and a little protein? Aren't they? Again, who do we believe? Hi Jeff. :)

@@BradStelmach Yes, you can have nuts and seeds on your salad! For sure. This is largely about people with heart disease or trying to lose weight, and to explain that nuts are not “super foods.” But they are healthy.

Hey, same here, I simplified mine too. Looking at yours, though, I'd add either green, or yellow peas, or lentils, your choice, or all, to the first two meals for some added protein, since the body does not store it, and some black "forbidden" rice which has lots of polyphenols as found in blueberries. For exercise I use stair-climbing outdoors. Dr. Fuhrman says stair-climbing is the best exercise, and he is a former athlete, so I think he's got a right to an opinion there. :) Well, I love your videos on nuts and other things that needed clarification. I'm sort of surprised when someone goes into fats as healthy or bad without mention the work of Dr. Robert Vogel of U of Md. His studies of blood flow and arterial dilation show the story so clearly, yet nobody mentions it. Olive oil, for instance caused dilation to cease for about 5-6 hours, same as a Big Mac. Bothe the BM and olive oil have 14% saturated fat and both do exactly the same thing to the arteries. I have not seen this around. He also found that canola oil did NOT do this, and it has only 7% saturated fat. !! The importance of arterial dilation is based on nitric oxide. Saturated fat tends to coat the endothelial cells to where they can't sense the shear stress of blood flow, so they can't trigger production of nitric oxide. This raises blood pressure, and also forces cholesterol into the cellular walls and raises plaque! This is why Esselstyn says "no oil".

Nuts are good for your arteries, but everything in moderation is generally very good. Obviously, 104 year old Dr Warem claims that he eats nuts every day.

Cancer from the thing we aren’t supposed to talk about or study to any great length that everybody coerced us to take but some refused. This guy, Nelson, has a special bias against Dr Fuhrman and tends to downplay his recommendations without presenting much evidence. What is his advice for dietary excellence? White rice and potatoes in some videos. He also warns against eating nuts which have been linked to higher longevity and increased health span in humans. He criticizes the nutritarian diet but he never presents scientific evidence why the program should not be recommended. The GBOMBS diet is built on eating foods that repeatedly show up in large studies over many years showing some health advantages through associations.

I just searched no oil diet lol, my parents never fed me any kind of oil, all I ate from childhood is almond butter, almond milk, ckw milk, honey, bread and all that stuff home made. Fruits like avocodos, pineapple, papaya, Gooseberries mostly. Vegetable are the least thing I ever consumed and yet at 21 I'm 6'2 strong, muscular, no health issues no joint pains nothing I'm much healthier than most of my friends in college, and I look great physically even though I do gym 1 hour a day which is a home gym lol only pull ups and cardio and weights. I do eat once in a month some kfc stuff but that doesn't hurt me but I like my healthy diet thanks to my parents

I’ve been WFPB now for 3 weeks. Occasional naughty dishes that have oil when we go out to eat in the weekends. I feel my palate has changed. I never liked plantains but now I love them, I am also not salting my food the way I used to anymore. It’s like my taste buds are more open to new foods I never liked before.

Wow, makes u wonder why some doctors like Dr. Hyman recommends to eat fat and also wrote the book Eat Fat Get Thin. If fat causes fat to go inside the cells causing insulin resistance, then diabetes, why in the world would he recommend fat? 😮

I do a lot of crockpot soups, split peas, lentils, squash, spinach, potatoes. Sometimes I do an oil free enchiladas with tofu but my heartburn doesn’t always allow it. Lol

Bs, carbs and sugar are far more worst. Processed meats are obviously bad, ruminant meats have no issues. Have been on carnivore for about 1 year now and everything got better, bp, sugar everything

The sauces you use seem very high in sugars, albeit natural sugars. Do you feel like you’re spiking at all after adding the sauces?

@@brettbudward Not really. I’m not dumping huge amounts of sauce and I use Bensons Tasty salt replacement which any in the video. But I experiment with different options and my wife has started making some good ones. I’ll probably get into that more in a future video. Thanks,
