Way to close that gap Macky! I am thankful Syd wasn't hurt any worse in her crash. The post crash footage could be it's own mini video 'Syd Fixes Bikes in the Real World'. Best of luck moving forward, you two are truly awesome!

Only thing is the footage would have to be COMPLETELY dubbed over. Otherwise it would be 3 minutes of a solid bleep.

That rock shelf reminds me of the Erzberg Rodeo. Crazy stuff. Well done to you both. I have to take another few weeks off my bike following steroid injections into my knee and hips to be followed up by some radio denervation of my lumbar spine. Then, I’ll be good to go. Thanks for the great content and inspiration guys.

Ouch. My worst crash ever was also an OTB. Fortunately my face caught my fall? I also asked if I would need stitches, to which they said, "in order for us to stitch, there has to be something to stitch back on..."

I have ridden on the coast in BC where I live for 25 years and know these interior trails are / can be tough as hell. If you don,t come from here the locals naturally go up and go down at another level with no sweat. That why I dont enjoy the pain if I ever ride with my Whistler friends. You should try and ask a bike shop employee in Revelstoke where some GREEN trails are for you and the family when on vacation. Great work must say / you can go back to New Mexico and rip it up.

Sorry for the crash...i crashed a year ago. I remember how winded i was, dislocated my middle finger to 90° luckily i snapped it back in place before the adrenaline wore off, dislocated my wrist too which I also snapped back in place. Wasn't nice...still rode 40km back home. When the adrenaline wore off ...boy was it painful .

No punctures. Ran our usual pressures but chose 60 tpi casings for this race instead of 120 tpi for the extra protection.

Probably a stupid question but how many bike parts do you have to replace after a brutal race like that? Cones and ball-bearings in the wheel bearings for instance must be totally done in.

I'm wondering- are You guys not analysing the GPX tracks before the stages? I noticed quite a few times that You are mentioning- I think it's top of a climb or something... Would be more effective to plan it ahead and also combine it with feeding plan during the stage?
@sydandmacky2 жыл бұрын
We actually have the GPS tracks and elevation profiles loaded on our Stages Dashes. But unless you are constantly zooming in and out it is still hard to know on a course you've never ridden. Also sometimes things that look flat feel a lot less flat in real life 🤣

What’s the warm up consist of on race day for both of y’all ?
@sydandmacky2 жыл бұрын
Generally spin for 10 mins then 8 minute build to threshold (2 mins x 4 slowly ramping up our threshold power) then a couple 30 second sprints. Takes about 25 mins.
