Waylon gave up his seat on the infamous flight in 1959 that killed Buddy Holly, Richie Vallens and The Big Bopper.

Shawn, you've absolutely got to hear the Willie Nelson hit with Merle Haggard, The Ballad of Pancho and Lefty. It's such a classic and it is just so good on every single level. It's an incredible story it's incredible singing it's incredible atmosphere it's incredible musical playing, it's just so beautiful and haunting.

There should be a college course taught on this song lol love how so many people get so many different options about what the song means....

Waylon has a beautifully smooth voice. Try "Luckenbach Texas", "I'm a Ramblin man", or "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean"

When they talk about super-groups, this is the most super. All four are legends in music as singers and songwriters. Kris Kristopherson has written many songs that you may know from other artists singing them. He was also a military helicopter pilot and was the youngest instructor at West Point. Willie and Waylon had teamed up many times and are a big part of the Outlaw Country genre.

In live performances they were known to swap parts around. And the stories of people being buried in Boulder Dam are false. The concrete pours were usually about 6 inches so there would be no problem removing the body. And a mouldering body would have made a weak spot which couldn't be allowed.

In a nutshell, this song is life. The circle of life. The singers, some of the best writers to ever live.

Waylon has a huge catalog. Some of my favs are "Lonesome Ornery & Mean, I've been a fool, Ain't living long like this, Only Daddy that'll walk the line, Mental Revenge, I've always been crazy, Don't you think this outlaw bits done got outta hand?, Brown Eyed Handsome Man, Rainy Day Woman, Luckenbach Texas, Bob Wills is still the King" .......there's just so many I could go on and on.......his contribution to music period cannot be overstated. And oh yeah.....he toured/recorded with his own band which is why he was labeled "outlaw" in the first place, back when Nashville insisted on layering symphony strings over everything. From his friendship with Buddy Holly, and all through his epic career and life, Waylon is truly an American Icon in every sense of the word.

Great song and reaction!😊 A couple of my favorite Waylon Jennings songs are "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean" (written by Steve Young but Waylon's version is best, IMO) and "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way." Also Waylon with Johnny Cash "There Ain't No Good Chain Gang."

You'e gotta' listen to 'I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again'. I don't know if Jimmy Webb wrote it, but he 's onstage on Willie's birthday with some other country dude & they sing it to him. Just type the title into the SEARCH box, and I'Mm sure you'll find it easily enough.AHHH...It was Toby Keith & Scott Emetic
