Top notch review Rob, you covered a lot of ground there. Never seen this but have seen it mentioned before as a bit of a forgotten film. Will definitely try to find it to watch, it sounds like a goodie and I like prison genre films. Yes Connery seems to be remembered mostly for Bond and rightly so, but he was much more of an actor than just 007. Anderson Tapes, The Offence, The Molly Maguires etc he could be a very raw and energetic screen presence. He has got quite a varied filmography, need to find/see some more of his 70's films. A really powerful and believable actor. Great review, thanks again Rob.

Thank you for watching and commenting. I agree with what you said. He has a great filmography but JB and INJLC are normally what comes to mind first.

When Covid/lockdowns messed up the 🌎in England we all had ‘way too much time on our hands’ I spent some time starting with the earlier films like Hell Drivers in 1957 watching videos ‘behind the scenes’ THE HILL outside of BOND was his best. He got on great with LUMET (again in The Anderson Tapes). My late father did his 2 year stint in the British Army from September 1952 - September 1954 out in Libya based in Benghazi My father told me when I was old enough about that time and there were some real ‘characters’ that he met like the MO/STAFF SERGEANT, Commanding Officers etc And watching this film several times over the past 4 years it shows a ‘mixed bag’ of roles. From the weak to the ‘bully boy’ type And there were officers who were like Norman Bird who really didn’t want to know what was going on And Ossie Davis - outstanding 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🙏🙏🙏🙏👍 👍 ❤️❤️😃😃

Good review! I haven't seen this movie but it sounds interesting. R.I.P. Sean Connery. I remember Roy Kinnear from movies like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and also The Beatles movie Help! As well as some others. He also appeared in the British sitcom Man About the House as well as its spin off George and Mildred, you might know Man About the House was remade in the US as Three's Company. Roy Kinnear died in 1988 aged 54 when he fell of a horse while filming the movie The Return of the Three Musketeers.

Those are movies that come to mind to me too. He also had a reputation of making actors break a take by making them laugh. I am going to make time this weekend to watch those two videos you recommended.

I think so too. Sean Connery did a good job showing he was more than 007.

The story sounds interesting. Plus how Connery got involved and how he liked making this movie more than Diamonds are Forever. My local library doesn't have it so I trying to use an inter library loan. If I get it and review it, I will send you the link.

Thanks for watching and yes. Connery was fantastic. This was what he needed to show producers he was more than James Bond. I had no idea what I was in for when I was about to watch it. This and the Untouchables were two non Bond films mentioned in Connery's obituaries. This one I had not heard of but saw good thing about it.
