This story that aired on the Australian news program '7:30 Report' is something that the team at 'Hillsong Accountability' have been working on for years, back to 2015 before even Hillsong Accountability was a thing.
Some of us started to watch the pattern appear. A takeover here, and takeover there, and here and there.
Then we started to hear people talk...from many locations.
From about 2017 another pattern started to emerge. Church annual reports started changing and less and less information was available.
Then a USA arm of Hillsong became apparent.
Finally in 2018 Hillsong declared separation from the Australian Christian Churches and that their "headquarters" is now in the USA.
So we kept records. In the last few years interest in this story grew.
So before someone tries to call this a political hit job, go get them to talk with the dozens of people who over the years have had their churches taken away from them.

I pray that Hillsong and Brian, Houston, and all those that were involved will truly change their thinking and turn from this wrong way of thinking, and be restored back to grace and truth. I've found this to be true of every Narcissist, especially when they're sociopaths who openly predate on others. They're all addicted to power and control. I'm in trauma counseling, and I remember my counselor saying that the perpetrator was a predator from the outset. I couldn't reconcile this for some time, but it's true. Houston is a Narcissist sociopath, like his father. Both have always been predators, one of children, one of money, but both are addicted to power and control because of their personality hardwiring. They are character disordered. My mother was a Narcissist, and an abuser (as they all are sooner or later). The "nice Christian" was a facade, just like with the Houstons, just like with Scott Morrison. The real person is the abuser. It's taken years for me to work through my cognitive dissonance that my mother couldn't love me, and that the abuser behind closed doors was the real her. We sheep and lambs who follow the Good Shepherd are realising that we've been surrounded by wolves in shepherd's clothing, predators hiding in plain sight, waiting for an opportunity to enrich themselves at the expense of others, driven by entitlement and a lack of empathy or accountability. I found out about Narcissism in 2018, and it's been a great blessing from God to give insight, help heal and have words to describe the destructive dynamic. It's also helped take the burden off me that I couldn't make the relationship work, because nobody can have a healthy respectful relationship with a Narcissist. The Ukrainian pastors are a perfect example of this. All Narcissists are abusers, like the evil one, whose puppets they are.

From what I sense when reading my bible is that God does not rejoice when things go wrong. He is not vindictive, and He is ready to forgive providing the people look at the situation honestly before the Lord. While some crucify the church as hellish, God is not like that. He continually offers all that is needed so that His name is honoured above all. Individually he is concerned about each person who went to that church. If the devil somehow sneaked in, he will get his reward. Of course, the pastor of the church had problems with his Dad. It's a sorry shame that the WORLD LOVES to pick at a church when it's got problems. Yes, I agree God does allow some things to happen in order that it can be corrected.

As a child of God, being in the Body of Christ, I have just one Question for every Pastor, Prophet, Evangelists and Leader in the Church, Why is it that nobody wants to talk about the Book of James. It is only 5 Chapters and it's the simplicity of the lifestyle in Jesus. Not one Pastor or Church has spoken about this Book. For me it's one of the book's that should be taught about often. In my head it's only obvious that everything is happening only by God's doing whether it is good or bad and it is really really sad that the Body of Christ has ZERO MORALS. Majority of the Churches out there have become BUSINESSES. GOD IS NOBODY'S BANK. Once again poor journalism and research, these Churches didn’t agree to merge they actually approached Hillsong and strongly wanted to merge in most cases.
