People Edison stole from: -Tesla -Joseph Swan, the ACTUAL inventor of the lightbulb -Louis LePrince -Wilhelm Rontgen, inventor of the XRay machine -Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville, inventor of the sound recorder EDIT: To everyone saying that Rontgen received credit, it is true, but as soon as Edison heard that such an idea was possible, he tried to build his own X-ray machine with the intent on taking credit from Rontgen. He stopped working on his X-ray machine when it killed his assistant Clarence Dally. Thankfully everyone still acknowledges who the real inventor was but it could’ve easily went the other way

I don't think it's incorrectly taught for the most part. Rather different parts in the world will tell it differently depending on what side they were on and their perspective. Great example for this the 80 year war between Spain and the Netherlands. I was taught that us the dutch were finally free and spain was oppressing the dutch and mistreating them. But someone from spain might tell it differently. Really you'll get what really happened if you take all the sides and pick out all the facts that BOTH or more parties all agree up on

Side Note:- In 2003, the Paris Police, while going through old archives discovered a photograph of a man who strongly resembled Louis Le Prince drowned in a river near to the tracks where the train Le Prince boarded was supposed to be going through, its most likely Edison's men stole his suitcase in the train itself and threw him out of the train into the river, the date on the photograph was also written around late Sept 1890, around the time Le Prince disappeared.

Edison was a fucking selfish-ass trash-ass greedy monster and Tesla for sure never got the recognition he deserved. I literally didn't even learn about Tesla in school ffs.
@LunaDelTuna6 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Tesla's electricity was supposed to be free and energy efficient. Edison's direct current (combustible) electricity is actually harmful to the environment in comparisons to Tesla's alternating current which was in a sense using the electromagnetic fields of the earth in a way that was harmless. Also, the reason Edison's idea won over Tesla's is because people would have to be charged to use it, meaning more money for the people providing it. If you are interested you should look up the Ancient Egyptian pyramids, solely the middle one where scientists are starting to believe it was used as a type of electricity for the civilization, JUST like Tesla's tower.
@michaelhenry32346 жыл бұрын
If Tesla's electricity is harmless why aren't we using it to fix our problems?
@ria73306 жыл бұрын
It isn't, it also wasnt proven to accually work
@LunaDelTuna6 жыл бұрын
Because he wasn't going to charge people to use it, like I clearly stated earlier. People (by people I mean the one's controlling our technology) don't want to provide us free anything because then they would not be making any money. It's pretty simple.
@chrisp71104 жыл бұрын
It's clear that Edison stole the idea though. He lived in the area at the time that Louis disappeared along with the briefcase and lastly, I am sure Edison knows the rules of a missing person patent, so he took this time to get it out there before Louis's family did
@fennxfox62416 жыл бұрын

My theory is simple he was robed sometime after his brother saw him last, note that in 1890 and still today Paris was notorious for petty crime like theft and it was not unusual to be robed in Paris especially if you you were not from there. During the robbery, one or more men tried to steal his brief cases which probably escalated into some type of fight between Louis Le Prince and the robbers, probably because Louis knew that important documents were in the brief case and he did not want anyone to steal his idea. The fight probably ended with Louis beaten and the robbers angered after the discover only drawings and nothing in their minds of important value. Now angered and pissed off that Louis did not have anything important in their minds in his briefcase, they then probably proceeded to toss his briefcase and papers along with his either concision or unconscious body into the river. Due either to his injuries or unconscious Louis probably drowned. Note: the French police pulled a unidentified man who look very similar to Louis Le Prince from the Seine River the same day he went missing.

@@jemimah7241 Yes! beer! Brew-masters were women and actually that's where the the concept of witches come from. Brew-masters were women who owned cats to eat the rats, had broom-sticks to sweep up grain, and wore big pointy hats to advertise product. Also fun fact: beer was originally a women's drink because of its low alcohol content.

Thomas Edison didn’t invent movies, they should change the history books for that and give Louis Le Prince proper recognition

Costs too much money to rewrite History. Cross the name out and write it in Yourself! Bam!

Try a non usa history book, he isn't the 'father of film' in Britain, or France I'd imagine! This isn't what's taught in Britain.

People don’t realize how much power the patent office has. They literally make the rules. So they can say “that isn’t possible, so we won’t go through with this invention being licensed because that’s crazy. Take care now bye bye then”
@corneliali77476 жыл бұрын
somehow I wouldn't be surprised if Edison bribed the patent office to keep le prince's patent vague.
@pikachu56476 жыл бұрын
patents were invented by the west after stealing from and colonizing the whole world to make the future generations fools, inventions are meant for social good, and they should be treated that way, scamming people in the name of patent is unscientific and unethical. Patents is the 21st century way of the elites to keep the world colonized, i hope foreign governments realize this bullshit and simply copy everything they can for their own people regardless of who owns the patent.
