I saw this gentleman live last night at Bentley's Drum store in Fresno CA. OMG. He is the real thing. I have studied with a lot of good folks in person including Peter Erskine, Virgil Donati, Seth Davis, and Joe Porcaro yet this man has such a mastery of HOW TO MAKE EACH SINGLE STROKE that it blows me away. As soon as he played for just a couple of minutes on the pad I realized that he was the most relaxed/centered drummer I have ever come across in my drumming journey. Wow. Check him out. Watch his videos. Go to his website etc. Like I said....he is the real thing.

I love how on the picture with Benny Greb they just identified Benny and not the other legend all the way to the right Ash Soan.

A bit absurd, as Ash has played on far more records. But who is more influential?

Dear Bruce in Italy the word maestro means he who as a child takes you by the hand and teaches you with patience and dedication until you reach what he has seen in you and not what you thought you wanted. Well I at the age of 52 years I am very honored to call you with this word! Peace and sorry for the bad English! David

Not if you're serious. I began to play in a Jr. High School beginning band when I was 13. I didn't have a drum set at home until I was 16. That's 3 yrs. on a drum pad. Every day I looked forward to coming home and playing on my pad. I Played to the radio and later, when I had a record player, to records. If your parents have money, you are blessed, if not, you do what you have to do to pursue your dream.
