Thanks again for another most informative presentation Roger. I would like to visit the Glen and ruins of the old castle. Where would be the best place to park and how would I gain access to the Glen? Would it be via the road leading directly to Monkcastle House from Dalry Road? I would appreciate any advice you could give. Many thanks again!

Glad you enjoyed it. It is a private residence. John Coleman, the owner, is usually welcoming to enthusiastic visitors. Mention my name and you may be able to look around. He has family staying at the moment and parking is minimum - drive up and see.

Roger, many thanks. I may do that. I’m a native Kilwinningite who has lived in Phoenix, AZ for the past 15 years, but each year we come home to visit family for a few weeks and I take advantage of any dry days to explore old haunts and new places. Your videos give my many new ideas, and my 3 year old son certainly enjoys the treks. Last night we went to the Lynn Glen and enjoyed the waterfalls there. Hopefully we will have the chance to visit Monkcastle before we leave. Peden’s cove is on the list too. Many thanks again!
