I still remember the announcement was thought to be a joke since it was on April first....i commend the game for trying to make an actually story on why the hell MK would crossover w/ DC 😂...but sucked that DC didn't let them do fatalities.

Glad to see you cover this one, Pat. Somehow I knew you would like this game. It gets WAY too much hate by the MK fan community at large... mostly due to the fact that the gory fatalities from the previous games were toned down a bit. That didn't bother me... I was focused on the fact that this game allowed me to pit characters from my favorite fighting game series (MK) against my favorite comic book characters! That alone was enough for my money... but it's actually a damned good fighting game, too. Some lame fatalities here and there, for sure... but not all of them are bad, and even the DC villains have fatalities. The "Heroic Brutalities" for the DC hero characters are not ALL bad, either. Speaking as a Mortal Kombat fan since literally day one in the arcades in 1992, this is actually a very good Mortal Kombat game... and that's a hill I'm glad to die on. The only thing "missing" from the game? Alternate attires.

I loved this game when it came out. I remember rushing to GameStop and buying it. My brothers and I played it all day long and we never got tired of playing even after completing the game from both story arcs. I always wished they would have done a Mortal Kombat style game with the DC characters against the Marvel Characters, wouldn't that had been an epic game to see made. In the comics they had the cross over event between them and just think a video game based upon that story line. Oh well what could have been, which I am surprised because reportedly Ed Boon who was a huge fan of that comic book series never made a game based upon it. In fact, to change things up they could have had Mortal Kombat characters as well with a revised story line which could have included them. Think about it, a game with Mavel, DC, and Mortal Kombat characters in a drag them out epic beat down game. I know I am dreaming. Great Video!

Crashing through the wall, sky battles, and close quarters minigames. These probably aren't EVO legal but seeing these things in action (espically how long since I've last seen them) makes them exciting. Wish more fighting games get more minigames like that. Good documentary. Maybe you should look into other video game crossovers as well for future videos. I'm particular fascinated in how SEGA does a crossover since most of them aren't the obvious crossovers other companies would do and what fans want. There's an interesting crossover game from SEGA at the moment that yourself and other gamers of the golden age of gaming would be interested in. Its a mobile game called 404 GAME RE:SET described as a shooting RPG. But the fascinating thing about the game is its crossing over classic arcade titles from Taito, Namco, Capcom and SNK with classic and long forgotten SEGA games. The latest one was pac man, elevator action, Mappy, Xevious, Mr Do. with Zaxxon and Rail Chase from Sega recently included. The upcoming event is legend of kage vs shinobi. Its a big hit in japan but unfortunately the game aint coming out over here. Its an example of SEGA doing a crossover title where SEGA itself is the bad guy that no one expected to see. Its a celebration of what was good in gaming from the past i just hope it could get a release here. If you haven't heard of it you should check it out from the vids thats been posted .

MK is a very adult property, DC is very childish. So if you're a DC fan, your a child getting awesome adult content, if you're an MK fan, you're having kid BS added and the thing you love is being butchered to allow for that. As an MK fan, this game is trash, but if you're a DC fan, it's great. You'd figure they would have learned from the SNES/Genesis MK1 days, dont tone down the gore.
