The History of Notre-Dame

Notre Dame is an iconic 12th-century Gothic cathedral and a historic landmark in France, famous for its stunning architecture, gargoyles and stained glass windows. It hosted crucial events such as the coronation of Napoleon and the beatification of Joan of Arc. In 2019 it was nearly destroyed by a massive fire, but restoration efforts are underway to preserve its cultural legacy.

I remember watching the news and seeing the fire. I was actually praying for the people of Paris that this historical building would remain intact. The fact that the interior remained untouched by the flames, was a miracle.

The interior was touched. The roof collapsed. The marble didn’t burn. That’s not a miracle. The cross didn’t melt because the fire literally couldn’t get hit enough to melt the material by hundreds of degrees. It’s great that it was salvageable but there wasn’t a miracle that did those things.

I Have visited Notre-dame Today And it was Divine holy Experience It was biggest and most Peaceful Church ever i have seen

I only know the Notre-Dame from Disney’s Hunchback of Notre-Dame, but I research and look into the details, beautiful. The fire was shocking to me. But luckily, and most likely by God’s interception, it survived. A game company who developed Assassin’s Greed franchise has contributed by giving them the designs that they have studied the Notre-Dame for their game, God bless those developers. And as to when will be reopen, they say around by the end of 2024.

How much I wanted to see everything in the cathedral when I was in France for school exchange when I was 13/14 years old. Not only because "the hunchback of Notre dame" is one of my favorite Disney movies

Honestly, to indonesian eyes, the cathedral looks like a palace, due to its pointy tower. We are very accustomed to knowing that European palaces have pointy towers. Every fairy tale book in Indonesia has that description.
