Sandy Island, South Carolina, renowned for tidal rice production in the 18th and 19th centuries, is the largest undeveloped freshwater island along the Eastern Seaboard. Join historian Susan McMillan as she explores the people who have lived and worked among the island's prehistoric sand dunes and surrounding tidal marshland. Part of the "Sandy Island... Forever" series, based on the book of the same name.

I kept waiting to hear more about the people who toiled in the fields. You know, the ones providing the rich lifestyle for those plantation owners. I like genealogy, but there are two sides to every story.
