The military of the Fire Nation is the unified armed forces of the Fire Nation. It was the world's most powerful military during the Hundred Year War, and saw many glorious victories in battle throughout the span of the conflict. The Fire Lord is the commander-in-chief of the Fire Nation military and delegates power through a select few generals and admirals of the army and navy, respectively. The War Minister develops and provides technology and equipment for the Fire Nation military and reports directly to the Fire Lord. At least prior to the Hundred Year War's end, female Fire Nation soldiers mainly served in the homeland. The Fire Nation military is comprised of a large number of personnel, with an extensive propaganda campaign used to convince people to volunteer. The nation's army is the second largest in the world in terms of numbers, after the Earth Kingdom, and it maintains the largest navy. The Fire Nation military also possesses advanced and powerful military equipment, giving it huge military capabilities and power projection solidifying itself as the most powerful military force in the world. The only known force capable enough to match the Fire Nation military head-on was the military of the Earth Kingdom, though it very often experienced major losses against the Fire Nation.

It was most unfortunate to hear of the death of Lu Ten, and I completely understand wanting to go home after 2 years of brutal invasion and the loss of a son. General Iroh did a great service for his nation, and later in life, it truly changed him as a man afterwards.

@John Arat Southern Raiders. I may not be all that good at Archery, and I want to make better use of my fire bending that. And Rough Rinos don't seem all that appealing to me. Southern Raiders even get their own special ships and stuff, and it over all seems like a pretty good crew to join with. Like the designs too, really sleek.

Southern Raiders look clean and streamlined, fire bender uniforms are truly iconic and look quite imposing, although regular footman armor, while pretty decent overall, I feel could use some more flair, or just overall design to it, buy I like it either way nonetheless

I'd have to say that my favorite nations are Fire and Earth, because all the way back in season one we spend so much time in the Earth Kingdom, seeing its vastly diverse chinese and indochinese cultures, and the imperial Japanese inspired Fire Nation's military and home country in the final season stating their political ideology and world view, although it is a shame we didn't see any more water tribes, although as for seeing more water tribes, the show could only go on for so long, it still has a good length though.

He only killed the Air Nomad nation because after Roku's death he knew the next Avatar would be born into the Air Nomads and it was his attempt to try and get rid of the Avatar once and for all.

@@woofu9872 because their power projection was more similar to imperial Japan than Nazi Germany. They were industrialized and had a huge navy. They would be able to strike anywhere near major waterways and quickly be resupplied or reinforced but couldn’t effectively fight longer campaigns further inland. Due to their much smaller population than the earth kingdom you could imagine occupying territory would be more difficult and they’d generally be out numbered in bigger battles. And to be honest Earth is probably a lot more versatile than fire. The fire nation used the comet to destroy the air nomads and aside from the northern temple the rest resided on mountainous islands. A hundred years in they’re no longer a threat most of the western earth kingdom had fallen and the southern water tribe was decimated. By the end of book 2 Omashu and Ba Sing Se had been captured.

I have a question, but: What is the Fire Nation Ships Navy's most real life equivalent in history? We know that the ships run on some kind of tinder system where a fire bending engineer in the lower decks strikes the engine with a fire once. : But what is the engine? It's definitely not steam as an massive fleet produces ash from the smokestacks. It could use a combustion engine, but that raises the question of what model of engine? Furthermore we know if the ship takes damage, the engine can overload on itself as one engineer runs up to tell the crew above deck that "the engine is about to explode" and that it "can't take much more.", and we know the back of the hull is large enough to support artillery stationed on it. So what is the most likely equivalent to a real life counter part to the fire nations ships?
