The vacuum flask was invented by Sir James Dewar in 1893. The Dewar flask was metal and was used in laboratories. Burger had the idea of making them in glass which was an improvement rather than an invention and it was successfully commercialised.

They mention at 1:01 that the vacuum flask "principles" were discovered in 1893, but couldn't be bothered to mention Dewar by name, or that Reinhold Burger and Albert Aschenbrenner merely copied his device for commercial purposes, as Dewar never bothered to patent or commercialize his invention. Then again, this program is from DW News, who are probably surprised to learn that a world exists beyond Germany's borders. "Das ist inconceivable!"

Very intriguing, but ignores Dewar's earlier discovery.
