I dont think it's a compliment if you mistake original content for AI content, lol

Wait, Maine was part of Massachusetts

Brilliantly created and produced BUT incredibly hard to digest! So much information in such a short time, with a timeline at bottom that we need to refer to at constant intervals that then disappears, and on and on - becomes hard to appreciate.

The Revolution was really an American civil war. These were largely British settlers, many of them with experience in the British army, or second third generations British in America who disagreed with what they felt was decisions being made for them from a land thousands of miles away. The war could have been adverted had things been dealt with properly but a stern attitude from London (I say that as a British person) resulted in a revolt. Some settlers didn't want to leave the Union, others choose their own localised rule...this option proved more popular. Sad.. however Britains and Americans are still close friends, ancestors today.

Don't forget that there are also Dutch Danish french spanish and German mixed in with the British settlers.

Maine was not a colony or a state.Then why do you have it on your map
@shaleenthepunk85689 ай бұрын
It would become a state in 1820 due to complex matters surrounding the Missouri Compromise, so pretty early in US history at least.

The video is concise, but leaves out a lot details. Nothing in mentioned about the Loyalists motives, or the Nuetrals. Much less that Britain was trying to recoup costs of defending colonists in the French and Indian War. Also, people in Britain were overall more heavily taxed than in the American colonies.

I would like to point out that Maine didn’t exist as a state or colony, it was part of Massachusetts.

There was no such thing as Maine at the time and the location of the cities are all off. For example, neither Trenton nor Princeton are in North Jersey and Philadelphia is located in in the far Southeast corner of Pennsylvania, not halfway up the Delaware.
