Lightyear isn't a reboot, a reboot would be using the same characters from Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command, but in a different universe as if the events of the original series never happened. Especially: "Lightyear is the movie that Andy watched in 1995 and it's his favourite movie and that's why he got the Buzz Toy... which was based on the Cartoon, which apparently rolled out n minutes later." Lightyear is nothing like a 1995 movie. It's as if, in a movie, cartoon, comic or whatever, in the 1960's somebody throws in a movie that's clearly a Star Wars rip off as "Oh yeah, that's the movie that was released last year!". Or a 1958 Batman Comic and using All Star Batman and Robin by Frank Miller... Also, in a 1995 movie that, apparently, is intended also for a youger audience and merchandise driven... you wouldn't have seen any LGBTQ Content... it would've been torn to shreds by moral guardians. @@locklear308 because I’d rather spend £7 a month instead of buying a few dozen movies and a ton of seasons of tv shows. It’s also a lot more convenient than spending 10 minutes finding the dvd box, putting it in the machine and watching unskipable ads. I’m not saying it’s necessarily bad, or you’re wrong or wanting it this way, but i personally prefer Disney +. Besides, if there’s a movie or tv show I really like I’ll still buy the DVD just so that I can watch it if the WiFi ever goes out or on a long car journey.

They felt quite a bit confused about what the Lightyear movie was "meant" to be, in universe. Tbh. i personally feel like they WANTED it to be a reboot/ to wipe out "Of Star Command", but then people were getting angry and they went "THat's the movie the show is 'based on'! It's the 'original work' that the Series is a flanderized, kiddified rip off of!" What a load.

Ironic how this captures the spirit of Buzz Lightyear better than the recent film. Regardless of not getting much recognition by Pixar I like to think this was the show Andy enjoyed when growing up in the Toy Story universe after all many of us literally grew up with Andy; we were kids when he was (Toy Story 1 and 2) and many of us went to College when he did by the time of the 3rd Toy Story. This show was many of our childhoods. Anyway the recent "Lightyear" is too *woke* to even be a film that defined the Buzz Lightyear we know in the Toy Story universe....... There's nothing wrong with creative writing but jeez every chance people get they insist on pushing certain crap we don't need to hear. Can they not focus on what makes a film fun? The tv series may not have been perfect but it certainly would have served as a great basis for entertainment value. I miss the days when kids shows and films could be more subtle with real life situations without rubbing peoples noses in it. Take Dexters Laboratory for example. It slid in some things kids wouldn't get at first but adults would; however at it's core it could entertain both.
@hafirenggayuda2 жыл бұрын
Dexter, Samurai Jack, and many "kids" cartoon have hidden and not so hidden adult themes (not just about s3x okay). Because they're made for both kids and adult.

I saw a wisecrack in the comments on another video reviewing the Lightyear movie, and I love it so much it's my new headcanon! ^~^ _Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is the cartoon Andy watched that made him want the toy- Lightyear is the cashgrab, live action reboot Andy is disappointed with and won't take his kids to see!_ X^D -That's presuming he has any, but I've seen that kind of comment on Disney live action remake trailers too: "even if I had kids I wouldn't take them to see this. I'd just show them the original."-
@carsfan19952 жыл бұрын
@@hafirenggayuda Look at the cartoon fandom of the 2010s and there need to analyze everything on every episode of a show for kids written by adults. It’s still there, it’s just the kids show writers use the kids shows in order to get an adult fanbase instead of appealing to kids. It’s why you have so many whiny animation fans crying about “animation isn’t just for kids.”
@hafirenggayuda2 жыл бұрын
@@carsfan1995 yea. Today however, there are plenty animation directly for adult (Bojack, Family guy clones, etc) This somehow make many kids cartoon losing its adult theme.
