Fun fact. The Kawasaki Green CanAm featured is mine. I sent Ultima a picture and said "I want it in this colour." The said "NO." Over and over. Finally they did what I asked and it was such a hit, they offered it to everyone.

The way the Ultima smashed the Top Gear lap record without even needing The Stig (who had an enormous advantage on that track having driven round it so many times!) showed just how much quicker it was compared to the most exotic cars ever made.

I'm shocked TopGear and GT has not done more on the history of Ultima and Noble. Great documentary, I always rated the Ultima in the old racing games but I didn't know it's history and connection with Noble.

I love the way that Ultima has ALWAYS had absolutely staggering performance. The earlier 90s cars are STILL shockingly quick compared to modern machinery and they just kept getting quicker and quicker! Love it! Truly incredible car!

I have never forgotten the Ultima owners staying at a chateau near to the actual race circuit for the Le Mans 24 hour race. The sound those cars made driving back to the chateau from miles away was truly awesome - you could hear them coming. It was like the circuit was coming to the chateau!

Your father took me out in a red Ultima Mk 3 with Porsche running gear and the Chevy engine. This was in kit form. Your father was such a gent . I travelled up to the workshop and was just blown away with afternoon. Brilliant memories

Really enjoyed the early race footage and still remember Ted taking me for a spin in the demonstration car. Not just a truly amazing driver, but also a gentleman. It is a pleasure dealing with the entire team at Ultima and I wish you all continued success

I was also lucky enough to be taken for a ride by Ted in both the 640 and the 720 just after the 720 set the record. A true gentleman, but due to life throwing a couple of curveballs my way, Im still desperately trying to be lucky enough to own an Ultima myself sometime in the future

....when I was lil kid, since I saw the Ultima for the first time, I totally fallen in love with it's direct focus in it's raw purpose and always took Ultima as measure to any other sport cars for comparison of how another machine complies with purest principles of ultimative driving....the Ultima story is one of the most exciting ones of automotive history....many other manufacturers lost their pedigree and original path being trapt in marketing trends getting degenerated into posh boutiques selling the brand itself instead of keeping unique identity and building flawless cars...What makes Ultima so different? You just look at it and you feel the respect to what it is...you fire it up and your palms get weaty...you drive it shivering with adrenalin....The best is...it's reachable by successful people from top of middle class....you don't need to be billionare to buy and run it...

As far as I first knew first about ultima, the first ultima I came across was the gtr in forza horizon 3. Yet it he kinda became my favorite car until the ultima RS really caught my attention and until now ultima is my favorite car

*_I drive a Maserati GT... when it grows up it wants to be a Ultima GTR..._* Been watching and wanting a GTR of my own. It is as close to Street Legal LM Prototype or Can Am you can find today. It's body style is timeless as is Le Mans. Imagine driving to track, changing tires, racing, when done, street tires back on, and drive it home. GTR is no Trailer Queen, it's designed to be a Daily Driver. The GTR in this Video is impeccable. It was hand built and every detail is the best of the best. No compromises means never having to live with anything less than perfect. *_SBC Engines are also timeless... the sounds never grow old._*

Great video , Glad to see it's getting the respect it deserved , I wonder why Top Gear did not invite them down , probably the so called big boys would moan. When you see costs of some Ferrari's ,Porsche , Lamborghini and this car much less much more fun as well. Porsche get the nod as best track/road cars according to the press , which is bollocks as Ultima is the best. And I like the fact that it's not built to be locked in a Garage.

I sure would love to hear the story of how an early Ultima ended up in British Columbia, Canada. many years ago I saw one at a gas station in Osoyoos, got talking to the guy who told me he was from Alberta, he paid $ 20.000 for the car from a guy on Vancouver Island, was planning on track racing it and mentioned the cars connection to McLaren, I remember it had the door hinges on the exterior of the car verses the newer hidden type. hell of a car!

Quite apart from all the Top Gear nonsense,I have,more than once,asked people like Harry Metcalf(Harrys Garage) & others why they hav,nt driven the Ultima?Ihave yet to receive a reply! The new RS looks utterly sensational. As someone else has mentioned,even the pre GTR cars are still quicker than most things;keep it up guys!!

One of my favorite Ultima's was the Car with the 750hp Mercury Marine Auto Engine . Quad Cam , 32 valves of N/A Orchestra . A melody of Awesomeness . ❤ the 1200hp supercharged LT5 . Don't think it's a LS.. maybe it is . The engine l would like in one is a 441cu inch Gen 3 Hemi with the Whipple Drag Blower . And Livernois Hemi Heads from them They flow 403 cfm on the Flow Bench . Currently the best flowing Gen 3 Hemi Heads . Just ❤ the Ultima . Awesome

There has been a bmw v12 swap before, bmw v10, audi v8's, audi v10's if you have the time and money most things can be fitted to the ultima. Although i would think the LT5 would smoke all of them in performance by a huge margin although the sound of a v10 or v12 would be great also even if it was a bit slower :)

I really wanted an Ultima back in the days of the GTR. I never had the space, tools or money to build one though. I was actively campaigning for it to go on Top Gear, and we all thought the BBC wouldn't let it on for fear of annoying the other manufacturers who they rely on for material. I have a Porsche 911 997 now, I'd still LIKE to build an Ultima, and I even have a garage now! But, I don't really have a grasp of how long it would take or how much it would cost.

I don’t expect a response and I’m not even a current customer of Ultima. But I want to know if I can put a LS7 into an Ultima RS. I want naturally aspirated, dry sump, and a powerful engine that doesn’t need forced induction(all to minimize weight, lower the center of gravity, and create a more predictable powerband. I.E. the lingenfelter eliminator spec R V8 engine. Is this possible? Or must I stick with an LT direct fuel injection engine. Thank you anyone for any information. And I hope Ultima, that you continue building sick ass cars.

Yes. There's a few folks using the LS7. Most use the LS series engines. However, the powerplant is completely up to you. The farther you stray, though, the harder the build. I've seen them now with a 2JZ, as well as an Audi/Lamborghini V10.

Plenty of electric LMP cars out there - that or partner up with the likes of Rimac or Porsche for the powertrain unit. It's not like they don't have motorsport connections for electric powertrain already.
