Dr. Slump is one of the most well known 1980s Manga amongst the like of Saint Seiya, Hokuto No Ken and many more.

3:53 I would like to add that I also missed his playful and creative paneling in Dr. Slump. The paneling in DB was creative in the early arcs but the more you read you can see he became more straightforward with the paneling especially in DBZ

Absolutely! While it's still really good, clean and helps with readability and motion he did so many fun things with Dr.Slump and thats a part of why I prefer it on an art level too, thanks for bringing that up!

Big-Gun is indeed by Hiroshi Motomiya both being credit it in the cover and in his wikipedia page, it isn't uncommon for author to work on one-shots or even split their work as it became common phenomena to authors like Tokuhiro Masaya as prime example

Yep! Mostly confusing due to other places labelling it incorrectly, took me a minute to fact check.

You're starting into the 1980s era of Shonen Jump 🙌 ! Ngl, but I always did love how charmingly cute Akira Toriyama's pencil work and character designs for Dr. Slump is. I'm glad that you appricate Toriyama's mechanical artwork. Also, I had no idea that Highschool Kimengumi had a predecessor.

Yes! I adore Toriyamas artwork, it's especially great in Slump, am excited to cover more of the 80s!
