TBF, Slifer Ninja is fucking terrible. You need a 2 card combo and a metric ton of garnets to bring out a protectionless 3K beater with a stun effect that is nifty but your opponent can just stall until they draw the out. There is jank and then there is duck taping some roller skates on a fridge and trying to surf it down the freeway at rush hour.

@@genm4827 I think it's the "Control Decks" mindset. In control decks you have to conserve your situational cards and activate them at the most critical time because your cards can't really generate card advantages on their own. That is why most modern control decks have a very streamline way to generate card advantages in addition to their situational cards. Subterror generates value via Guru-Hidden City, Altergeist generates value via Multifaker and Sky Striker generates value via Engage-Kagari for example. Cimo is used to this mindset, but pre-modern decks don't fit very well with that mindet, so sometimes it striked back to him when he didn't use his situational cards in time and later on those cards become very dead. In fact, (spoiler alert) he just lost the latest Progression episode because he didn't activate his Dust Tornado in time when Gage activated Snatch Steal to steal his Cyber Twin Dragon, just for Gage to immediately sacked the Cyber Twin for his Monarch.

While I love this series, listening to Cimo bitch about playing a bad deck (to the point where he starts misplaying good cards in order to have more to complain about) in a series specifically for bad decks just feels redundant and kinda annoying. Its not hard to read and put two and two together, especially with these old decks. I don't think you understand the divinity system if you think that. Divinty is immunity to EVERYTHING, including backrow and battle. Literally the only way to out them would be a Kaijuu, and even that is debatable as they reference sacrificing "monsters" and according to Divinity the God cards aren't monsters, they are Kami/gods.

@@nm2358 Actually, the Gods were always susceptible to Spell destruction. Even the manga had Yugi just use Magical Dimension (instead of Ragnarok) to destroy Ra. So they actually had the weakness of spell destruction, but they were playing in a format where spell destruction was either rare or banned (stated by Kaiba when referring to Raigeki).
