Thank you for the video. I have been working on trying to improve on this, as I just finally figured out the first part of the spot. The Force pushing back is an interesting point I never thought of. And I feel the pivot drills may be the last piece I need to finally get this hockey stop down (Even if it's only one direction atm)

I can hockey stop turning left with my right foot out front, but I just can't seem to do it the other way, I'm going to try these tips Jim gave and see if I can do it, maybe there's still some hope.

Great points on the mental side of stopping and the pressure sensors in your feet telling you, this is not normal.

When I stop my leading skate chatters. I did get the skates sharpened but that didn’t change the chattering. Any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong?
@mikes23967 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you might have your weight a bit too far back on your blade when you're stopping...when you stop, you should be using the middle-ish forward part of your blade, right below the ball of your foot. Try shifting your weight forwards a bit to see if that makes a difference

Student Loans Are Cool I've got fans of all ages, it's why since day one I've avoided using the word kids to refer to the people watching. For videos focused on the basics I'll use "new players, or beginner players" like at 4:10 and I remind the guests as well who work mainly with kids.

Coach Jeremy great video coach, i did notice you reminding your guest, and thanks to him too for the stopping tips, now I'm gonna go get ready to hit the ice. Im still working on stopping and crossover's. Hope i learn it before my hip bone really breaks. 😄
