Thank you for the advise. On getting older and how changes surgery affects you. Dr very seldom tells you the body changes so much after surgery. And 70 and 80. It is harder not knowing what to expect. So wonderful your son is realizing this being prepared is. So important ❤❤❤😊😊😊thank you

I wish ALL doctors were like Dr Hoeflinger. As a chronically sick 46 year old who spends 20-40 days in the hospital every year, the doctors are often short (overworked), they don’t listen to your concerns, etc. the gaslighting in medicine these days is terrible..

You're right! The gaslighting is horrific. Hope it gets better for you...Mrs. J

Hi Dr. Hoeflinger and family. I hope Cindy's back feels better. I just found your channel recently and subscribed. Thank you so much for sharing your videos and family with us. I really liked your video about what you see when you are on a trauma call. Everything you said on the video is so true. Thank you for watching out for us and giving us the reminders in how to stay safe.

Really enjoying your broadcast. Regarding people falling...I now remind myself to take my time..slow down. It works having that conversation with myself. Walking is so IMPORTANT...every day or every other day just do it. Back problems are the worst and to live with it every day is tough. A lot of hot showers or Jacuzzi might help as well as ice. People need to rest more..just give the body a break. I'm not into meds and try and fix things naturally but I also believe don't drink..don't smoke..don't take drugs...do walk and rest. I lived in the Mediterranean for many years and all natural lifestyle is practiced every day. Next to no meat in the diet..some fish and lots of beans fresh fruits and vegetables. Let's all be happy that we are alive..love your age no matter what your age is and keep busy and keep moving. Just sharing.

A relaxed couch podcast to include all (I saw a brown dog in another video sitting with Dr. H a couple of days ago) of the dogs would be perfect 😎

I don't eat sugar and I also have a low fat diet. I have a very low carb diet. Lots of vegetables and salad. No sauces except a tiny bit of mayonnaise. Only pasta once a month. Meats are chicken beef lean and Ostrich and beef mince and fish. Brown rice once a month. Tinned fish as well. Treat days can be added.

I mix up a bircher muesli with whole oats and steel cut oats and dried fruits and dry roast nuts - all organic ... easy ... it last ages I alternate my breakfasts between this muesli with yoghurt one day, chicken and avocado, 🥑 another day, egg and avocado 🥑 the next and steak and avo another day. Yoghurt chicken steak and egg are so filling because they're protein ... great for us girls. I use the left over chicken and steak for dinner. I make up soups ... my favourite at the moment is broccoli: 2 heads broccoli, stem separate from florets, 2 sticks celery chopped 1 cup frozen peas 1 chopped onion 2 tspns chopped garlic (out of a jar😂) Heaps cracked garlic 1 litre chicken broth ( I use cubes) METHOD In a large saucepan gently cook onion in olive oil for 2 minutes Add garlic and pepper for 1 minute Add chopped broccoli stork 1 minute Add florets, celery, peas 1 minute Heat stock in microwave Add to pot Blitz with stick blender Serve immediately or take off heat immediately... you don't want to overcook broccoli 😅 Add warm shredded chicken, Parsley, full cream sour cream or just eat as is. Make a big batch for freezer Great as a Gazpacho Great for inviting friends over for lunch with cheese toast I'm retired and too busy to cook all the time 😅😅😅 Food is for sustenance AND enjoyment. I make up brewed coffee and refrigerate it for a few days I lightly steam vegies and freeze in batches ... great for quick veg prep, blend for a quick soup Make up a couple of loaves of cheese sandwiches, put them back in the bread bags and freeze Cook 6 mixed roasts as once ... chicken beef pork ... fill that oven then freeze. Roast big pans of Mediterranean Veg, tomatoes Capsicum onion garlic even mushrooms, take skins off tomatoes and Capsicum and freeze - great for soups Yum❤😂❤😂 or as antipasto Have family cook up days My favourite is Ice Cream making Day😅😅😅 adding fruits and nuts Everything above sounds like a lot but really you've only spent 4 or 5 sessions cooking for a month of yummy food that cheap and healthy and fun to make together. Happy Eating🥰🥰🥰

I don't want the spinal fusion either. I am also afraid 'one fusion leads to another'. The injections called 'spinal ablation (?) helped a lot'. And yeh...sometimes my thoughts are 'something must be broke in my back'. I am lucky to have days where nothing hurts. I wish u both the best.

Passwords are a dirty word in my life. I forget all of them. Lol. I am seeing dietician, first thing I don't use sugar or butter. Lowered my carbs my weight was 70 Kg and I am now 61 kg. My back I take day by day and once I mobilize after getting up I am good to go. I am 77 and don't look my age lol. 😊

I have a grade three PCL tear and a MPFL tear which requires surgery to restore stability in my knee. I was overweight and couldn't safely have the operation. I have lost 140 pounds in 14 months without excessive exercise or malnutrition. I found new ways to make the food I love with healthier ingredients. I have dozens of personal recipes I can send you, perhaps to an email or private message that does not have a character count cap. Let me know how I can contact you with these recipes if you'd like them. I did not do any fad diets. I did not eliminate entire food groups from my diet, I simply ate in a calorie deficit and focused on getting in plenty of protein and fiber.
@SarahBearrahАй бұрын
I have also used these recipes to maintain my weight and keep the lifestyle change.

There is next to zero sugar in the Mediterranean diet. Next to zero potato chips etc However the sugar issue can become a real problem over there. They really don't understand a diet with sugar but they do understand cookies and cakes and sweet cakes which usually are served with your coffee or in the evening when guests drop in. Because they're not using a lot of sugar daily when they do bake quite often the sweet cakes are too sweet which can be unpleasant. Because they are walking all of the time they are burning off a lot of calories and in the summertime in the Mediterranean ice cream is huge. Here again they might have two bubbles of ice cream on their ice cream cone and then that's it. The ice cream is delicious and it's not really too sweet at all.

It's -2 over hear, after your healthy meal, here's a great treat for Archie, will come in handy Grandma... Snowman Soup When icy fingers,nose and feet Are wishing for a warming treat Don't let your frosty spirit droop Make up a cup of snowman Soup Hot chocolate from a powder mix The first step in this winter fix Sweeten with a kiss and hug Both added to your steaming mug To mix it well, a candy stick Is just the thing to do the trick And lastly add the final stuff A handful of marsh mellows puff And even though it may be snowing Your insides will be warm and glowing ____________________________ I always have a little light on , great idea, I wish for grandma to be back together again and we'll. Shopping is a good cure for gaining weight.. I like that... Have a great day, wish you well, exercise and eat well, A few antioxidant smoothies with an egg added great... I'm loosing weight, I don't cut out my sweets, a little of everything is needed, To mutch of anything or to little can be unhealthy...
