Trivia - do you know why we call it a dash board? Horse drawn carriages used to have a curved front that would prevent mud from reaching the riders when horses would dash. The name carried over to motorized vehicles. Great build and tips!

Put the rope at the end of your skis for easier towing. Also it helps to have it on the downward side of the skis, attached to an eyebolt and a carabiner clip . Otherwise it looks really nice!

You did a great job, simple and effective, I have a smitty sled that I use also. Great for covering lots of ice. Take care..

Like the build, great ideas!! One thing you may look at adding on to one of the ski's, is a bump board!

Nice job man...I like it...I have been ice fishing for 50+ years. Still do not have an auger (home made spud/blade - can punch a hole in 8" of ice in a few minutes and I need the exercise 😁), I have never used a fish finder - still seem to find fish. Do not have a shanty...just insulated coveralls and really good boots. Other than that it looks like u travel pretty light! I like the idea of a sled rather than carrying a couple pails and a spud! As I get older I do like the look of your battery drill auger...one day! 😁 Thanks for doing the video! Mike 🇨🇦 🍁 👍

I too ice fished for over 50 years, I had augers for most of that, manual early season, gas or battery later on, I only use a spud to re open holes I have previously augered a day prior, we get 3 - 4 feet of ice and when you fish almost daily like I do, an auger is the only way to go.
@michaellippmann4474 Жыл бұрын
@Dunk lol...I have never had to go through that much ice...yes I would have an gas powered auger doing that!!! I did break down and buy a manual auger on sale last March (had shoulder surgery and driving the spud down just created agony) and using that auger worked out great - one time late season ice. Most ice I had to go through was 18" with it. Usually I only have to deal with 6 - 8". This season is looking pretty bad so far...I look out my window and the lake is still open where I am. Have a great season! Mike🇨🇦

Corn as bait... Ya it worked. But Im sure Nobody wants to see this evolving thing inside my head right now I'm in the process of Completely Bastardizing your wonderful design.. to turn it into a wood frame Smitty... I think it'll work.... Of Course.. If I had a sinker for every time I've said those words I'd sink my boat Thanks for the Block rizer design 👍

May have to build one too. Have one for my sled and made a bench seat that sits in my sled but yours is much lighter
@buckkuhlmann34613 жыл бұрын
Looks good but you should put your rope through the ski tips , it will help it pull even easier by adding lift to the front. Just drill holes through the tips and put rope through and add a washer for strength. Otherwise looks good.

I like it but it’s definitely pared down to bare minimum, like sniper jigging. What would be your idea if you needed to add on, say 1. Five gallon bait bucket 2. Storage for excess clothes 3. Storage for a few traps 4. Food and beverages You’ve got room in the bucket but then you have no room for kept fish…
