The Hollies guitarist Tony Hicks takes a guitar solo on “Sorry Suzanne” on stage in Copenhagen. Both drummer Bobby Elliott and Tony Hicks have been touring every year since joining The Hollies in 1963. Typically playing in the U.K., Germany, New Zealand, and Australia. The Hollies make a rare stop at the music venue Docken in Copenhagen some 16 years after playing three shows in Denmark in 2003.

I simply adore Tony Hicks no matter what... but I do really miss that amazing solo guitar he made in the original version. Why he can't do it again?

Tony hicks is still there. Life moves on yes the originals were great but the rest do pretty well

@@alanhorne3338 This isn’t in the same league though, it doesn’t help that they’ve had to lower it a full 3 keys for the singer to be able to sing it - even then, he’s not capturing the tune with anything like the sense of melody Clarke had, there’s ‘moving on’ and there’s ‘dropping in quality’ - to me it’s the latter

Unfortunately divorces happen, and he was tired of The Hollies. He's now at total retired age. I also didn't like Clarke's voice because his intonation was slightly off.

This version is in the key of A … not C like the original …. Hence the reason there’s zero energy in it…. Wayyyy too low, he’s basically talking the lead vocal.
