There is a TON more lore from conversations with various characters and whatnot, and more tablets, but I tried to keep it to the ones that were more directly related to the Hollow Knight and the Pale King/Hallownest itself.

Just so you're aware (sorry if it sounds like I'm spamming, last time I mention it) even though it's filled out on the map, you haven't actually explored the bottom right of Kingdom's Edge where there's that bench, and you haven't been to the top right either. Glad you faced off against a Dream Warrior. I knew you'd have him. In case you forgot, have a read of the Grimmchild charm. That should tell you what to do about the circus. Lastly, I'd recommend against looking up lore about the ending just yet. I don't think it's a spoiler for anything else, but it's easy to get spoilers for the other endings when looking it up. Good luck. This is easily one of the best games ever. And don't feel bad about taking your time. The longer you take, the less time you have to wait for Silksong.

Super glad you're continuing! Do you remember how the Broken Vessel boss had a dream version you could fight? That’s also a way to get a ton of dream essence, and there are a few other bosses you can also fight like that. I’ll write them below in case you don’t want to waste time running to every boss arena to find out lol. . . The other dream bosses: . . False Knight, Soul Master, and Dung Defender. For Dung Defender you’ll need to use the downward spell directly beneath the big lever next to his room. They’re tough bosses but since there’s no runback it’s not too bad. Have fun!

judging by the way you were surprised this was a kickstarter, i believe you'll be very impressed if you look into how this game was made. because most of this tremendous work was done by only 3 people! they're heroes and absolute legends and i bet you'll enjoy learning about them, and how hollow knight came to be. overall, thanks for this letsplay, i've really enjoy exploring hallownest anew through your eyes

You mention the Hollow Knight being an easier fight, which is true. For reasons that may become clear later though, I think it’s a very well designed fight in the way it can overwhelm you at first but can become much easier as you get used to it. Definitely intentional on Team Cherry’s part. Personally, the Hollow Knight is my favourite character in the game. I hope you enjoy the lore as much as I do when you get to it!

The point where The Hollow Knights attacks become easy and weak near the funal part of his healthbar is where the devs of the game truly shined. The shift in tone from a meancing titan at the end of the game to a sad and hopeless soul is heartbreaking, and the fact that they showed that by making the boss easier as you whittled down his healthbar is a something of stroke of genius. Props to you for seeing that

First time I finished the game, that moment when the music shifts and he starts stabbing himself got me so hard. I was just staring at my screen in disbelief, tears running down my face. At first I felt terrible for fighting him at all, then I realized what all fo this implies. One of the most well executed boss fights in any game for me. "emotionally exhausted" is a perfect way to describe it

Since you asked for it, here is a list of things you haven't done/places you haven't fully explored that I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to skip it if you think it reveals too much. - The blue marker you have in the Ancient Basin - The unexplored area under the bench in the Royal Waterways - Hidden Area near the Dung Defender under the lever that removed the acid from Isma's Grove (I don't remember if you've been there yet or not) - Where you defeated the Soul Master in the City of Tears - A pathway in the beginning of the Soul Sanctum that you have yet to fully explore - Find a way to save Zote in Deepnest - There are things you can do both above and below the room in Deepnest that's between the tram and the hot spring. - The Hive - The area in the lower right of Kingdom's Edge - The Collosseum. Both the trials you haven't done yet and one more thing you can find there. - The area between King's Station and Kingdom's Edge - The room where you fought the False Knight - The Grimm Troupe - The rest of the Warrior Dreams - An area in Greenpath called the Stone Sanctuary that I _think_ you have on your map but haven't been to yet - The Lake of Unn in Greenpath (I don't _think_ you've done everything there at least) - A way out of Crystal Peak to the right that you haven't fully explored. - The upper section of Queen's Gardens Edit: - A room in Fog Canyon that you can reach from the long vertical room between Teacher's Archives and Fungal Wastes If you think this helps and isn't too spoilery I'll gladly update this list in future videos as I remember more

Your reaction to the Hollow Knight fight and the questions you asked after were so good and I think exactly what Team Cherry was looking for. Tradgic, confusing, gripping. So good. You certainly have much more to explore and do. And depending on how much you want to complete, it will be some really challenging, frustrating stuff ahead. But you can do it and its all worth it! I'd suggest exploring the Soul Sanctum area again. Also, rescue our friend in Fungal Wastes! It might become your favorite part of the game. Dont forget your bank account. And just keep having fun doing what youre planning on doing. This game is a brautiful, brutal masterpeice and we are along for the rest of the ride!

It really hammers it home that they are not your enemy, but this sibling is ultimately still your ally to fulfill both of your purpose. And it would be heartbreaking enough without the music full of both hope and hopelessness, pain and sacrifice.

Congrats on getting the first ending! Since the DLCs added content, you can actualy 112% this game, so don't stop at 100% if you don't want to. Spoiler Free Suggestions: You have a number of warrior graves marked on your map and they give more essence than the trees, that might be good. Also, you have the charm you got from the Grimm troupe and if you equip that they stated other things are marked on your map. Beyond that, I guess I would suggest looking for areas where the map isn't complete or you even suggested going back to the Hive. Have fun. 🙂

This is one of my favorite games of all time, I love seeing it fresh again through other people's eyes, thank you for taking us on this journey. 46:30 Mister Mushroom is one of the more esoteric pieces of Hollow Knight, but completing his questline does slightly alter the ending you get. If you would like a slight hint towards completing it, there is something in the farthest southeast corner of Hallownest (farther southeast than you've currently gone) that can point you towards finding him again. 1:02:15 "That's so cute, man! Bravo! it took me over 40 hours to reach my first ending. The two non-spoiler Tips I have to move toward further endings would be to continue getting the trees and warrior graves, as well as exploring places you haven't been too, or seem important but you've been unable to access or utilize before. I'm excited for this to continue. There are some great videos out there explaining lore. If you like a humorous (sometimes too much) lore video I recommend MossBag's complete lore of hollow knight video. However I caution you to wait till you at least get one maybe 2 more endings before looking into that, as the bulk of the lore I found comes after the first completion. Now you have the context to put some other pieces of the puzzle together on your own, some new some old, but previously lacking context.

since hollow knight has quite a lot of dlc content, the final percentage of game completion is 112, not 100. :) In fact, two of the five endings are from later dlcs. Spoiler: If you want to open the gate to the chest in the king's station, you can't. In order to get in there you need to wall jump on the wall beneath the little room, then you'll get there. Also If you want a fun little Easter egg go into the waterfall in the Spirit's glade and dreamnail the statue there. it has no story significance but it's very cool :). I'm glad you are enjoying your playthrough of Hollow knight, as it is my favorite game and I've been greatly enjoying your videos.

Your emotions in this, through the masterful music really remind me of how much this game's music still speaks to my heart. Its crazy what they have accomplished here it seems like the mere music tracks and atmosphere goes far and beyond what a computer game can ever hope to accomplish !! its nuts!! Too good ! Good job on hollow knight I was way worse than you on my first run, you made it look easy ! Some nice notes/tips for you : (!!) 1. Warrior graves are indeed great for essence you can do it ! There is no real need to do the essence trees however once you finish an essence tree you can poke it with the dreamnail to get a small piece of lore/dialogue! Its not much but its something! 2. For huge essence gains don't forget you can backtrack to main bosses in this game and find their dream selves ! They are tough but they pack a hell lot of essence. And the challenges are nice! Up to you though! 3. Insane you discovered by your own one of the hardest secrets in the game. The mushroom guy, who you can talk to with the shroom charm ! Congratz on that ! What you did was a small part of a crazy/hidden achievement/easter egg for an ending but its very hard to accomplish without a guide ! But good job finding it regardless! 4. A kickstarter project indeed those people you found in Spirit's glade are what remains of the backers that helped this project. A lot of their ideas which weren't scrapped but contributed to making this game even better and in their own way their characters and dialogues realized in this game! Each a part of them and in many cases beautiful dialogues and ideas as you saw ! 5. You can try looking for a hidden key in Queen's gardens. Look for places with acid. You need that for City of Tears. What a beautiful game it still shocks me how successful an indie project like this can be, with just a few people (only 2 developers and one composer) behind it, and pure determination, effort and love put into every single touch of work they did here. Breathtaking!

Since you beat it with 63% if you want higher the percentage is based upon beating each boss, each warrior grave, each level of the colosseum, finding each charm, leveling up the dream nail, leveling up the nail, and I think something else but I can't recall for sure (if anyone reading this knows but it's not something she's found yet don't spoil anything). It doesn't include map percentage though.

While the fight itself isn't very special in terms of mechanics (as you said it's pretty easy relatively speaking), the tone alone makes it one of my favourites. _Yes,_ finally a Warrior Dream down! As you now see thew award _much_ more Essence than the Whispering Roots so I would strongly recommend you do them sooner rather than later. And here you see just how busted the Abyss Shriek can be :P "I never intend to kill a kid, that's never what I'm trying to do!" Strong contender for best out of context quote x) Speaking of this being a Kickstarter game (which, yes, is absolutely insane) the Warrior Dream, the spirits you find in the Spirits' Glade, certain characters and a couple of bosses actually correspond to backers who donated above a certain amount.

If you want to know the lore of Hollow Knight (but don't want the legwork) I'd recommend Mossbag's 'Lore of Hollow Knight' once you've finished playing. He's no VaatiVidya, but he does a pretty comprehensive job (I think) of going through all the known lore about all the main characters/places/events/endings.

Gorb first wave of arrows always lines up so it points at you. So there’s no guaranteed safe spot on the map, but you can always bait them to line up with where you stand then side step it. That’s the premise of the whole fight. Wave 2 always falls between wave 1, and wave 3 is back where wav 1 was. So you can manipulate where they go with your movement.

*Emma absorbing with the Dream Nail the essence of the Dream ghosts she finds around* "Yay! Essence!" *Emma when they hear some Dream ghost saying to respect the other ghosts* *Proceed to Dream Nail the little ghost kid* "What!? How could I know that was going to happen!?" Anyway This I don't consider spoiler because almost no one discover it in a natural way; In the Spirit's Glade (where THAT accident happened) in the right side of the room, there is a waterfall, you can enter a secret room there. There is a little ledge in the upper left part of the room where you can stand. Use the Dream Nail there. The rest is a surprise~ Check all the spots on the map where there's unexplored rooms/areas. You left at least 2 in Fungal Wastes. Aside from that; If you see mysterious rays of light flowing from a wall or a ceiling with out any lamp on sight, is almost 100% a breakable wall/ceiling or is simply an access hidden with a foreground object. Or if there is no light you still can see 'light' from the cracks of the walls/ceilings. There is a ton of them under the Resting Grounds.

Fun fact, the second highest tier on the kickstarter let you design and write the dialogue for a grave in the Spirit Glade. The highest tier got to do the same for a warrior’s grave

The Mr. Mushroom lore is very hard to understand, but I can try to explain!!! To understand anything he's saying, you'll need the spore shroom charm equipped. After you talk to him, he'll give some weird dialogue about different worlds then disappear to another section of the map. Find all of his locations and you'll earn a special scene at the end of each of the game's endings. The messages are cryptic and make no sense to the common player, but the mention of other worlds allude to other projects the developer team has worked on such as "Hungry Knight" the predecessor of Hollow Knight. In Hungry Knight, the Knight ate food to get strong enough to save his bug friend. Mr. Mushroom confuses you for him since the two models for the Knight are identical. The dream nail dialogue is just a musing on this game's lore. Wyrms (the pale king) pull bugs into their thrall (gather bugs together to form his kingdom) till ages pass and kingdom's fall (the kingdoms never last forever). Caps and shells may fall to dust (the bugs of the kingdom all eventually die) but Mr. Mushroom readjusts (Mr. Mushroom always finds another kingdom or world to pop up in).

I'm not ready to say goodbye yet, so I'm excited to see this series continues past beating The Hollow Knight. Hopefully you'll go for the True Ending, Emma, which will require you to get 2 charms (one you get in pieces) and power up that Dream Nail A LOT more (you're collecting Essence in the video where I'm at right now, so maybe you already do that). Yes it was a Kickstarter raising aus $57k which is a small sum for such a perfect game to be developed. The Spirit's Glade shrines are to some of the Kickstarter Backers! I believe the game was made by 3 people plus the composer which is absolutely crazy!

Definitely watch mossbag's lore video if you're interested. It will explain pretty much everything that happens in the game. The Hollow Knight is supposed to be a vessel that contains a disease called radiance from spreading. That didn't work and now radiance spread all over Hallownest (anything with orange eyes is infected).

Sometimes I really wish I didn't spoiler myself, especially with the Hollow Knight fight, just to experience that change in the fight and have my own feelings over it. But that's just how it goes with me, I spoiler myself to see if it'll be a game I enjoy, then get caught up in the lets plays and speedruns, and only then actually buy the game and play it for myself. At least I get to live through others reactions to things

Team Cherry really nailed The Hollow Knight's fight. The way it pulls on your heartstrings really caught me offguard when I faced him. Keep exploring and it will all make sense. The dream nail is the key. There are dreams you cannot pry into yet until you upgraded it and then things will fall into place. SPOILER: Once you acquire what you need to get the 'True' Ending (according the community), you are also able to get the worst ending of them all. You must defeat the dream that plagues this realm, not the shell meant to contain it.

A few spoiler free areas I think you could explore more are Resting Grounds, Queen's Garden, and the King Station side of City of Tears There are of course other areas with important stuff too, but these are some of the easier ones to tell you about, and you've already been there before. I'm absolutely loving this series btw, I can't wait to seeing your fight in the Colosseum when you get to it!
