Good stuff here. I liked the classic Hollywood Squares best. Many of the regulars were no longer on the show but this is still a great show. Also nice to see the commercials left in. 👍

Now I kinda know where Davidson’s version of Hollywood Squares for their set inspiration from. Up until the Vegas Season of Marshall Squares, the viewers never, EVER saw the audience.

I would love to see the very last original Hollywood Squares from Las Vegas before it was cancelled for good!! I read in the encyclopedia of Tv Game Shows that on the last Vegas Squares show George Gobel sat in the center square!! On the very last NBC show on June 20 1980 Wayland & Madame sat in that center square.

The screencap for this episode has a funky design with some of the celebrity squares out of place, upside-down, etc. Was that from this episode or did Fuzzy make custom-design that?

GSN aired at least 130 hand picked episodes from the 1968 NBC nighttime and the first 6 seasons (1971-77) of the syndicated version. They never played Vegas.

By then, Squares altered gameplay with contestants playing for a prize in each game; no money and most frustrating, the Secret Square was eliminated. Whoever won that day by winning the most games when time was called would win a bigger package of prizes. All of this led up to a tournament where the winner won $100,000 in cash and prizes; including $20,000 cash.

@@zachhoran Here's a better idea: 64 x Preliminary 32 x Round 1 16 x Round 2 8 x Round 3 4 x Quarterfinals (But only the top 3 make it to the Semifinals) 2 x Revival (Between the 4th - 7th places of the Quarterfinals, 8th would be out automatically) 2 x Semifinals 1 x Final Fight for 3rd 1 x Final Fight for 1st Equal to 130 games. I believe your estimate is equal to only 126

Like Peter wrote in his book BACKSTAGE WITH THE ORIGINAL HOLLYWOOD SQUARE-By the time Squares got to Vegas the show was tired. However I think what would have been better-do like they did on the NBC daytime version-if the contestant won 5 games in a row then they won $100,000 cash and prizes including $20,000 cash & 2 NEW CARS!!(NIGHTTIME) DAYTIME IT WAS $25,000 IN CASH & PRIZES $10,000 CASH & A NEW CAR OR SOMETIMES 2 CARS!!
