@@Orbgy so now you're moving the goalposts from "every coin has a grey tone and is fake", to "i doubt every coin is real"? Christian finessed his craft and knowledge in years of experience. Don't you think he knows how to spot fakes? So tell me, what is your expertise, aside from noticing a gray tone from a video?

Beautiful collection. One thing I noticed were the envelopes and finish on the coins that were not in the plastic protection. My dad stored in similar envelopes and the coins developed the same finish which is unfortunate but that what they stored in during that era. Congratulations on being able to handle the collection. Great assortment of coins. Besides the 5 Mark Neu Guinea (retail value around 2 k), the Prussian 1719 Gulden is an absolute stunner. That´s what I call a high end collection, thanks for sharing ! 👌Greets from GER, U.

The early Russian Roubles from the mid 1700s are world treasures. I looked up just one of them. According to the NGC price guide, that 1741 Russian Rouble with the portrait of Ivan III is Catalogue Number KM-207.2 and has a value of $6,000 in VF, $12,000 in EF, and realized $52,500 in MS-64 at the Goldberg sale in May 2008.

19:14 It's some kind of mistake. This coin is not Ivan III. In the history of Russia there was Ivan VI during these years of reign. Ivan III reigned from 1462-1505. This coin is fake.

Wow, what an amazing collection, so many of those pieces are just fresh/original and breathtaking. Do you know if the collection is from the UK? The accompanying tag for the Iraqi 1 Ryal coin says 18/6 on the bottom, maybe indicating that the original collector paid 18 shillings and sixpence for it. It would also indicate that the collection is pre-1971, which makes sense All I can say is wow. Thank you for sharing!
@TreasureTownCoins9 ай бұрын
Absolutely! So the collection is pre-1953 (when they stopped buying). It was a doctor in the States who bought world coins when he would (apparently frequently) travel across Europe.

Those coins don't look like they are stored properly. If not, the PVC from the plastic and the glue from the envelope will damage the coins over time. And it looks like they have already been stored improperly already for a long time.

As much as I enjoy seeing this collection of coins, and I do very much appreciate them, it is a little disheartening as it makes my own personal accumulation seem rather feeble and weak. Anyway, I was especially struck with the Tibetan coin (crown?) which I feel may be a higher value item (I can't imagine Tibet issued a lot of coins), and also many of those Prussia and German States pieces. Beautiful. Thanks

Definitely improperly stored. A lot of those coins probably looked BU perfect when they were originally put in those envelopes. The envelope has acid that damages the coin. The plastic bags have PVC which damages the coins. Some 3cent 2x2's would have prevented that. Shame.
