I was doing a Patreon hangout a couple months ago and we got on the topic of Bible shows for kids. Naturally, my favorite super hero of all time got brought up. And his name... is Bibleman.
Bibleman was a live-action show that ran from 1995 - 2010, but The Bibleman Adventures (the second iteration) is the best era by far. So come take a journey with me back to my youth as we take a look at Christian Batma- I mean BIBLEMAN.

The fishing net makes a lot of sense for what the show is. Bible Man was a huge part of my childhood, I had the costume and sword and everything, lol. @@politereminder6284then none of y’all know enough about the history of anti Jewish stereotypes. Even just the few clips in this video make it clear. Also the whole thing demonizing big noses started out as an anti Jewish thing in the first place. These stereotypes go back thousands of years, and have been documented just as long.

I was a VeggieTales kid, but I barely saw Bibleman growing up. One of the only episodes I ever saw featured some pretty blatant racism against Asians, and as an Asian person I was immediately put off from the show. Even so, I've always been kind of curious to know more about it. I never knew all this backstory, and I had no idea how much of it was produced by one person. Even with its giant flaws, it is still impressive to see the work that went into it.

i never watched it, but i did buy a bibleman cape at a thrift store and wore it backwards and wrote purple girl on it because when i was younger i made up my own superhero (and her secret identity was myself lol) called purple girl

They just did an animated remake of Bible man, my sister loves it (she’s 5) and they do have some biblical points, but I think that it could definitely be better (especially the actual animation)
