It's simple, Starkiller Base wasn't Ilum originally. It became a popular fan theory and it didn't become canon until 2019.

@@NebLleb I wouldn’t hate you for it. But TFA is also an example of how spoiled audiences have become with flashy movies instead of films with depth and story. TFA showed things and explained nothing under the belief that explanation would do more harm than good, supposedly. That being said, TFA could have given Disney and Kennedy the potential and platform it needed to start building and expanding on a future Star Wars universe; Rey didn’t start as an inherently bad character and Finn was interesting and had potential. Unfortunately, neither ever actually had an interest in any of that.

It made me angry to see the sacred planet of the Jedi get defiled by the Empire and then the First Order. In Jedi Fallen order, you can see the planet getting turned into Starkiller base so it can be used by the first order

So while it’s an awesome read in its own right, I’d take the information it presents with a heavy grain of salt. I’d also refrain from taking links from KZbin comments. You should be careful for hackers. But the novel is available online for free as a pdf.

It’s a shame Ilum never made it into The Force Unleashed. It would’ve been a cool mission to have Vader dispatch Starkiller and wipe out the tiny Imperial presence so he could collect one of the last crystals and make his lightsaber could be strong enough to fight the Emperor (before Vader betrayed him). Oh well.

It is a shame. But TFU is legends. In legends, sith and darksiders use artificial crystals not natural ones. (Except for a few like Exar Kun.) This gives their sabers the famous red color. Also in the current canon, sith take a jedi's crystal. They usually don't go hunting for them. But that would make for a cool light side mission though.

Dooku sent chameleon droids during the clone wars to destroy the temple but they were stopped by luminara and barriss.However they were trapped under a pile of rubble and would have been crushed if they hadn't used the force to hold it together. Yoda was able to convince padmé to go to ilum, so he could rescue them.They were accompanies by 3po, r2, and captain typho. Yoda destroyed most of the remaining chameleon droids and padmé took down the last of them, with a little help from 3po and r2. After yoda freed barriss and luminara, r2 hacked one of the enemy droids and learned of dooku's involvement.

Question; How do they measure time in universe? Obviously, they don’t use BBY/ABY. Also talk about the calendars as well, and how you would measure time on a starship.

The Galaxy uses a standard calendar based on Coruscant’s solar and lunar cycles. A day on Coruscant is a day on Earth, a week is 5 days, a month is 35 days, and a year is 368 days. I’m reading all this off of a ScreenRant page, btw.

Here’s how do it irl: “The ISS observes Greenwich Mean Time (UTC/GMT). The shuttles also had UTC clocks so that the astronauts could easily figure out what the "official" time aboard ISS was.” So, all the ships in stars wars, probably long long ago made standard by bureau of ships and services would have their equivalent of UTC clocks installed. For larger vessels where logistics are an issue, command ships etc prob also have something similar to a news room with bunch of clocks displaying local times on various key worlds around galaxy. Time is relative right, so regardless of distance away from it, still moving same speed. When they jump, if something goes maybe cause discrepancies over many jumps tho, assuming not accounting for it but talking like, 5 seconds or w/e typical jump duration is, reason for that is bending time and space to do so. Once hop tho if comps are compensating, and adjusting for any time dilation effects relative to universal standard with FTL communications/data links etc, wouldn’t really be a factor, more so for an actual mechanical clocks cos be missing time right. Irl, theories on “warp drives” fall apart often due to fact we cannot go faster than light(far as we know). Could maybe put ship in a bubble essentially which folds time and space allowing it to traverse huge distance in “blink of an eye” but only be relative to occupant, for us on earth watching this craft leave, be moving at snails pace and by time get where going, we’d all be long dead. Defeating point of FTL travel to a large degree. Star Wars, I don’t think operates under any realistic theory of relativity though lol so, ya, like allies in ww2 cos entire thing is just ww2 in space in its inception, they use equivalent of “GMT” for a galactic standard. The Force Unleashed for the Xbox and an unused episode of the Clone Wars confirmed how the Death Star superlaser was created: Kyper Crystals. They had a giant one, and/or smaller ones with a focal point at the end, all channeling and combining focused lasers that would gather together the power to destroy a planet. I do find it a bit interesting that, according to Legends, Ilum apparently wasn’t the planet where the Empire obtained all those Kyper Crystals. If not Ilum, then where? The Kyper Crystals in Jedi Lightsabers are too small, and the Sith created synthetic crystals for their Lightsabers, their process being what gave their Lightsaber blades their iconic red color. Also, Disney’s Star Wars calling the intentional destruction of an entire solar system’s comprised planets a ‘cataclysm’ just goes to show what sort of ‘writers’ are ‘running’ the show, because you don’t need to know Star Wars to know that that wasn’t a ‘cataclysm’. That’s not a cataclysm. It was an attack. That might be stupid, but the New Republic they intentionally wrote as being a garbage chute to poorly explain why the First Order managed to gain power at all can’t be *that* stupid and mistake an attack as being a disaster.
