That’s true. We’re one paycheque away from being homeless. My friend, a senior, can’t afford rent anywhere. He’s barely getting by thanks to a friend of his. In a terrible unfinished basement next to the water heater. Homelessness has no age barrier.

Totally. Also I feel she missed another idea: maybe you're doing well enough you can miss a paycheck or even a few. But say you develop an illness and can't work for months, will you still make it? Or if this illness costs a lot?

Thank you so much for your eloquent words and for sharing some truth. I am recently housed in an SRO in Houston Texas. They have a really great housing first approach that has significantly reduced the homeless population. I became homeless because a piece of paper (restraining order) was not going to protect me from my stalker. I gave up my entire life and disappeared halfway across the country to protect my life. I am grateful every day for having supportive services housing and it brings me hope for others to see people like you spreading love, understanding and knowledge of what homelessness truly is. WE are all human beings, brothers and sisters, and WE ALL need to help each other. ✌️❤️

me too...me too. I am just now (after over 8 years) trying to come out of hiding and it is more than hard to do so. A restraining order, has never stopped a bullet, stab wound, etc... It seems ridiculous to me when the unknowing asks "so, did you get a restraining order?' Last night, while driving, I noticed a woman being beaten until her clothes began to fall off of her. Immediately, I stopped. My child began to cry and scream please get us out of here. Reluctantly, I pulled off and called 911. Sick to my stomach, because I couldn't get him off of her without endangering my child. Moreover, I know that the police never rescued me from abuse. They ALWAYS showed up much later or not at all. This is not to down officers. I get it. They are trying to make it home alive. Nonetheless, most people don't understand, because having a close friend or family member who went through this does not necessarily provide the required empathy and understanding. This is why I am desperately trying to start a non-profit organization to help others who have survived stalking and/or domestic violence. I can't sleep right wondering if she made it through her brutal beating. You are right we need each other. I pray that love and understanding drowns out ignorance, indifference, hatred, and cruelty.

Last month, I had the opportunity to assist a homeless couple by providing them with a home and supporting them financially until they can regain stability. Witnessing their progress has been incredibly heartwarming. They've been diligently applying for numerous jobs and recently received a video interview opportunity. Their journey has been so impactful that they're considering writing a book about their experiences, shedding light on the societal blindness that often exists. Your eloquent explanation of the concept, "it's not a 'them' problem, but a 'we' problem," struck a chord with me. We must recognize that we all share this planet and bear a collective responsibility toward one another. People refuse to listen when they think they’re better than experiencing such problems. Negating the fact that they don’t know someone else’s experience, resources or perspective. Or that it could happen to them, suddenly, due to many factors outside of control. You TRULY are unaware that systems in-place aren’t good until it happens to YOU! It’s a domino effect to cope! It’s devastating and full of trauma! Compassion > judgment

~ I met a woman in Hollywood -yeah, That one -living in her Mercedes Benz. While living in my truck myself and extra-ing in “An Eye For An Eye” (👁️IT!) I asked the Mayfair guard (where she and I bathed) did I look “homeless enough” to him. “Uh, no.. your jeans got to look all greasy..” etc. I Knew what his answer would be.🤔😒🤨

And think of all those foreclosed and abandoned homes people aren't allowed to use either. There are options but its not their problem, cause apparently its my own fault im not bank worthy or ...like i mean all that middle man with a middle man and we can't even get jobs that can afford to provide health care for employees, how can we afford first and last months rent plus deposit as well as turning on various utilities or water once 🔂 n. Personally i think water should be free at least cold but not their problem

It's a sad and growing problem in this world. There are multiple causes mental illness not treated,drug abuse lose job home marriage etc . The fact it has been growing shows the failure of governments around the world 🌎. Jeremiah 10:23 shows it doesn't belong to man to direct his step.
