@100lamadrina83 жыл бұрын
The story goes Audrey went for an audition, Jackie didn't like her. He thought she looked too "Hollywood" no one would believe a gorgeous woman like her would be with Ralph. The next day Audrey put on a frumpy dress no make up and her hair was out of place. Jackie did the scene with Audrey and and said, "That's our Alice!" The producer told Jackie she came in yesterday and you didn't like her look. And that's how Audrey Meadows became Alice.

Yes Linda, they were a classic combo. Like Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, Dean and Jerry, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey et al. I watched the Honeymooners in 1954, and 55 when it was a segment of the hour long Jackie Gleason show. Then in 1956 my brother and I along with our father watched the classic 39 episodes. They never fail to crack me up. Along the way, my daughter became a fan and today, at 50 she can still recite a lot of those classic one liners. The Honeymooners may very well entertain Americans a hundred years from now.
