Vincenzo, I enjoyed this video very much. The WA35 is absolutely lovely! OT, but as much as I enjoy all of your videos, I miss the Weekly Updates. Those were unique among all of the other fountain pen videos.

Just received a Hongdian M2 to today in medium. Inked it up with Diamine Velvet Emerald and it wrote fantastically right out of the box. Hongdian seems to be putting out really good pens. The WA35 is not to my taste but others might enjoy it. Glad you liked yours.

I agree with you, it’s great to see Hongdian putting out pens with good quality!

Hongdian presents this nib as the A7 as the fourth generation nibs. I have been testing it for several days on various types of paper, it reacts very well. Very interesting review, beautiful ink. Thanks Vincenzo!

I love the nib. I have a D1 which is soft and has a nice bounce. I hope they continue to use it. As far as the design, maybe as I grew up with the Space Race. As a pen reaching for the stars, I like it. Would it be an everyday pen? The jury is out, as they say. Thank you for the review, Vincenzo.
@JZYang-d5eАй бұрын
if you like bouncy nibs... look out for what BanJu, which doesn't seems to be affiliated to any groups for the moment, can offer. their pens have their own styled design as well... one of them not even close to Pelikans.

Hi Mr. V! The fact that this pen is an Aerospace themed design, puts it on the radar for me. Pretty cool looking! Thanks for sharing!

Happy to see what seems like an original design. I was curious if WA-35 was a rocket or missle or what so I searched WA 35 China and didn’t see much besides the stealth Shenyang J-35. It doesn’t have that kind of grid that’s on the cap so I still wonder. I like symbolism on pens but find that one a bit busy for my taste, but I’m happy you are enjoying it. Have a good week.

Hi Vincenzo! Another great review of a very interesting pen. A suggestion for your reviews: for those of us who don't post, the overall weight of the pen (with cap) really isn't useful; the weight of the body itself is what's most important. If you could list the weight overall, and the weight uncapped, that would be much more useful!
@fountainpentherapyАй бұрын
I will keep that in mind

Greetings from Australia. Great Video. I will be getting one. BUT what happened to the stabilised wood pen, A7. It has disappeared off the market. I wonder if it will be back at Christmas?? Have you heard anything?

You know what you can skip it it’s nib section was in gluing from the main body and others pointed out this problem

Thanks for this excellent review, and your contagious enthusiasm, Vincenzo! Just wondering: in terms of grip section stability in the hand, which pen would you prefer more: this Hongdian, or the Asvine J16? Thanks.
@fountainpentherapyАй бұрын
@@delkott the J 16 has a section that is less slippery than the Hongdian. For some reason my fingers stick better on the j16 than they do on the WA 35.
@delkottАй бұрын
@fountainpentherapy Thanks a lot for your prompt response; I greatly appreciate it. I asked because I am beginning to consider my next pen purchase, and this pen looks beautiful, but I also prefer non-slippery sections. Thanks again, Vincenzo!

HongDian pen designs are mostly unique to their own... with exception of small percentage that would seems to "rhyme/sing along" with other makes in the market. being affiliated to the group with Asvine, Admok, Moonman/Majohn, and probably Tramol, my attentions had always fall on what HongDian can offer in their new products. although their nibs would mostly seems to be Jowo/Bock inspired.
@fountainpentherapyАй бұрын
Those German nibs are a lot stiffer than the Hongdian nibs which I really find to be unique.

Your review was also positive, no wonder, it's a HongDian. I missed the HD 100 and although the price has dropped significantly, I didn't buy it. This WA 35 could very well end up on my desk soon. The absolute icing on the cake for me would be if this and other #6 nibbed HDs were already equipped with Jowo threaded units or if HD would soon equip its #6 nibs with Jowo threaded units. I'm thinking of my Titanium Flex nib units.
@fountainpentherapyАй бұрын
I'm not sure about a Jowo thread but I agree that this nib would be perfect for a titanium flex unit.

The red star can be looked at as a fashion icon. Your pen may not post on your pen,it may on mine- mileage does vary. 44gms is a good weight- I like a pen with heft. I like that the nib is a screw in unit.
@JZYang-d5eАй бұрын
i wonder... if HD starts a new W series to celebrate space exploration related theme with designs, will there be a new model where the cap will be designed like a pod, not only screw to cover the nib section but also screw to cover the barrel end finial? well... some users like to play with their pens as well! :D

Nice review. I would prefer not to buy from China, but that is unavoidable. I just got an Asvine P20. Aside from the gold trim looking a little overly shiny, it's a nice pen. Interesting, too, despite a language I don't speak, I still understand the welcome. Be well

It is manifestly an homage to communist China's military and aerospace industries, and to Chairman Mao's vicious Red Star revolution. Not my cup of tea. A sequel to Hongdian's 2022 100th year anniversary pen honoring Mao and his communist party.
