I tried to help her find a job, but she was LAZY and did not have a serious work attitude. The bottom line is having a relationship with any woman is going to be hard. They are a complex creature. Their main focus is the money! Always the money! It’s not about you. It’s about your bank account. How much do you have. How much do you make in a job. How much do you own. Men’s main focus is about the woman’s looks. Is she pretty. We men are extremely visual. Women care most about security. Why we see ugly fat guys with beautiful women. But they have the money. Which represents security in the woman’s eyes. I too went through a bad situation with a Vietnamese woman I met in Hong Kong. I was living in China/Manila. We were together for seven years. Almost got married. But didn’t. It was something very bizarre and unique that eventually drove us apart. So she went back to Vietnam. Luckily, she wasn’t the type that kept asking me for money. Or for her family. I did give her some but only when I offered it to her. I think picking up a bar girl for a serious relationship can be dreadful. It’s hard. Because of what she has gone through in her life vs the way you lived. Black and white here. Night and day. Difference. Use your brain more than anything. Not your heart. Not what’s in between your legs. Your brain. Think. Think. First.

You kind of contradicted yourself in your sentence. You say that they’re complex but then go on to say that all they want is money ( which I agree with btw) the fact is women are actually extremely easy to read and predictable. they’re not half as complicated as they’re made out to be. They only appear complicated to men that don’t have anything to offer them such as good looks, money or status. If you have at least one of those things then women come in abundance and nothing will be particularly complicated. For men that have nothing on offer will often feel frustrated due to the lack of attention they get from women or constant chasing they have ti do in order to find a mate and that is where the false notion comes into play that women are complex creatures. They’re absolutely not, they’re actually very predictable.

Yeah honestly don't get these guys. Here in the Philippines met dozens of women not a single one has ever asked me for 300 pesos. This guy doesn't seem to understand that you don't need to live in Isaan to find the quiet life in Thailand. I spent years in the Nong Chok district of Bangkok which is full of rice fields and village life. Then I moved to a quiet inland Phuket moobahn with mountain views and only one bar within the local neighborhood. I'm only 15 minutes from the beaches and tourist nightlife if I want that though.

Ive watched Dan's channel pretty much from the start. I sort of stopped watching mainly because it became tiresome listening to the same stories over and over. I think he's a genuine person sincerely trying to guide newbies to Thailand who specifically are looking for a relationship with unrealistic expectations.He even had a subscriber visit him one time who he helped out but the guy, in my opinion, was just another dolt who likes to frequent pattaya. what i've noticed from most of these videos is men just not being fussed about the relationship they're in. they seem to get married to these thai girls but assume the relationship will fail from the start. I can't imagine any of my western married friends talking about their western wives like these guys do - basically saying well its sort of fine, not great, but I can just leave if anything get hard. None of them seem to be in actual loving relationships. i don't think i've heard one man in any of the videos talk with any sort of affection or love about their wife. it's like they're a vague acquaintance. Seems like this is the type of man that goes to thailand in the start - people who don't seem to be able to put down roots or form long relationships with people at home so go abroad and form these superficial relationships that seem to be primarily about money and sex rather than actually knowing the person they've apparently decided to spend the rest of their life with. I don't know, each to their own, but it doesn't seem like these guys are going to be able to keep a happy relationship going anywhere in the world. If you're going to walk in to a bar anywhere in the world and try to start long term relationships with sex workers there you can't honestly think it's going to work.

Not sure if it's this video or another one, but he mentioned on a dating profile that he wants to just go to coffee, and that he won't pay for everything, etc... which is a great idea! I lived in Thailand for a few years: 2004-2006. And I didn't buy into: "The Man needs to pay for Everything!" etiquette. However, if I went on a date with a Thai lady I feel obligated to pay since they are generally poor. On the other hand, I've also met Thai women who were educated in the West and adopted the Western ways of 'Women's liberation" where they even offer to pay on a date. I was confused about this social etiquette: Is it a real social expectation in the Thai culture or is it just plain BS? So I just made a judgement call case by case. Of course if you're with a bar girl, you have to pay for everything!...LOL. But outside of the bars, it's open to interpretation. If I met someone that has a job sometimes they would offer to pay, but as I stated I do feel obligated since Thais are generally poor, just don't want to be treated like a walking ATM machine! I don't recall ever asking some Thai dudes I knew there about this etiquette. They're input on this would be interesting. What are the facts behind this social etiquette?

Bar Girls can be a lot of fun ! It's not like you have to marry them or white knight them. I think my time being a tour guide overseas helped me immensely. I remember meeting and dating different girls every week. We used to laugh when the JAL planes would land on the island. Thinking how many of them will I sleep with. It's worse than that, Leigh. They are simply not exposed to films, books or travel in the first place so they are unable to discuss those subjects regardless of language. Those things are culture specific, although the Filipina Pea KZbin channel shows that at least one woman in the Philippines could discuss them with you. The appeal of a Thai woman isn't intellectual but they can be very companionable when they feel like it.

often, even if you speak the language, you will find that many don't have a cultural reference point to many things and topics of conversations that you might find yourself wanting to have. Speaking the language is not some instant gateway into understanding culture. It can potentially be once facet, but it's not the be all end all. I agree with both of you. But. I'm 44. If I book a vacation to athailand and see a hot 22 year old sure. The hormones will rise. But I say but. Keep your head. Do I honestly think a 22 year old model will love me? Nooooo. Thailand or the Philippines. I don't feel sorry for these men to be honest. When you're retired unless you meet someone close to you're age and dont splash money and make false promises maybe sure. Like the saying goes. Men think with their small brain.

Men settling in Thailand are typically seasoned, 50+ years up. If they haven't managed to establish a sound relationship until then, likely they can't do it in Thailand. Once the pay for play thing is over, the relationship deteriorates. If they aren't single when they move over they are at risk of messing up their current relationship. Thing is, the entry barrier for getting to know a thai woman are lower...a few weeks or months into the game the strings are being pulled. The best thing to do is to het to know a nice woman in your home country and move over to enjoy Thailand far off the bar scene. Imho.

What Dan mentioned was spot on. If you go to Thailand and lead with money, you'll attract the type of women or people in general who are attracted to it. You don't go out in your own home country and flash with money, right? Because then the same thing can happen. When I met my wife in 2010, and we would go to Big C to do grocery shopping, I would show her what average products would cost in the Netherlands and she would find out pretty quickly that Western people aren't rich, but it all comes down to how much you get to spend once you paid all of your bills. My wife was renting a room in Bangkok for $100 a month, and the house I was living in would cost $500 per month. So if you just make them aware of those little things, it could turn up quite differently.

You just have to go and experience Thailand for what it is. Get off the plane at the airport and go exploring, whether it be exploring the hinterland of Chiang Mai or exploring the bar scene in Pattaya, Bangkok etc. The opportunities are endless.

I like that bloke. Before I remarried my Vietnamese wife I met in Australia, a friend took me to walking st in Angelas city. He took me to a bars that I felt like a predator. The doors shut behind us and all the girl's had numbers and were dancing on stage for us and 1 other. I didn't finish my beer and left. He took me up the rd to the place with the fly mesh on the corner with pool tables and the outside world could look in. Much better. I get what he says.

100% they have picked the wrong woman, most guys simply have zero radar when it comes to woman and Thailand simply amplifies these issues due to the access you are afforded via money. I live in a nice area here and I have been with my wife for 11 years, I have been able to provide her with a pretty luxurious lifestyle despite not needing to work she has chosen to go out and sell real estate as she wants to create a career for herself. I offer to buy her things like Louis Vuitton handbags even a BMW and she is simply not interested, its refreshing. I have quite a lot of friends with similar relationships, but you never hear anything about these type of Thai girls because they are very uninteresting, we just live normal lives. I believe you reap what you sow, and bar girls are a very poor starting point and so is a forty + year age gap.

Maybe you are lucky? I know some wealthy Farang guys who have 'invested' in a local lady. It's great whilst they are around but as soon as these guys 'drop their guard' the 'girls' flirt about, join the card games and go drinking at bars! Usually 'looking' for that 'bit of fun' that they are missing in their current lifestyles! Money isn't everything! If its in them, it will remain there! Just remember where they met these 'girls' --the circumstances? Should help clarify!

What you said at 12:00 about age gap and 18-year-olds being different in Thailand is misleading. There isn’t has been many celebrated marriage with huge age gap’s in all cultures. It can work much better than the alternative so often. And saying Thailand 18 year olds are mentally different is a kind of politically correct discrimination. People are people everywhere. You’re obviously not atune to the culture enough to see that an 18 Year old Thai can be living just as full of an emotional/mental/social life etc as other countries 18 year olds.

If you can't live in Thailand on a $3,000 a month pension, something is seriously wrong. I get by just fine with 40,000 baht and it's a pretty comfortable life. Now, if you are going to be drinking all the time and wanting to eat western food, it may be a different story, but you are going to have to try really hard to blow through 3K in a month. You gotta be really financially stupid and clueless for that to happen.

Smashing chap and great story. I did a few years there and rented everything, even the minge. No complaints I found quickly what ever woman I felt in (beer) love with I’d meet one the next night hotter. So for four years I thought just rent, two at a time if you can. Never had a problem adopting that strategy. Although I only have one sperm left now, and that’s on a life support machine 😂
