Evil Among Us

Күн бұрын

Today’s true crime case takes us to 2nd July 2018 when the small Scottish isle of Bute was thrust into the national headlines when Alesha MacPhail was abducted from the home of her father having arrived just 3 days before, raped and brutally murdered before her broken body was found dumped like rubbish. The Country was in shock when it was revealed that her killer was a child named Aaron Campbell a remorseless psychopath who told a psychologist that quote “All I thought about was killing her once I saw her.”
Evil among us is a channel which focuses on horrific serious cases from the UK and abroad with a focus on lesser known cases and serial murderers from around the world.

Mate, NEVER apologise for having emotions. You're only human. This one hit particularly hard for me, because my niece was a year younger than Alesha when she passed away. I've watched a few of your videos now, and I'm so impressed with the sheer respect you treat the victims with, you've earned another subscriber.

It's cases like these that make me wonder why I watch true crime at all. I don't have an academic interest in psychopaths or any kind of personal tragedy, but I still watch. This one was very rough, but the demonstration of understanding brought through in the video was very powerful, and that is appreciated.

You don't need an academic interest. A general interest is very common with these sort of crimes. A regular mind like yourself doesn't need to be trained in psychology. You know these people are violent and dangerous humans have always been fascinated with dangerous people

It's important for us as a society to, learn about, reflect upon, and openly discuss these events. For Western societies like America, discussion about death is taboo, and this is true in speaking about our shared, inevitable demise at the hands of time or disease. Our purposeful avoidance of discussing or acknowledging our "normal" death make learning of murders like this exponentially shocking. I feel I can safely assume we all value our life and the lives of others and we must not look away from stories like this. Burying our heads in the sand, to shut it off in your head doesn't change the fact that this depravity exists in real life, every single day. It's a extraordinarily sad truth, and as hard as it is to accept, a very real truth. My belief is that our inquisitive nature is for our survival and learning these things helps us subconsciously avoid danger, but more importantly trigger our empathy. Humans evolved to utilize these particular facets of our personalities to survive imminent danger and live together in groups.

Born in 1961 and one of 11 children , 3 died in their infancy , our family lived from hand to mouth , and my father was an abusive and controlling dictator.. I was SA by him from the age of 9 until 17 that’s when I left home..looking back my abuse by him was premeditated as when my elder sister left home , I was stood waving goodbye to her and when she disappeared out of sight , my dad came from behind me and stayed, You won’t turn out like her!! That’s when he started to abuse me.. I think this is why I am so drawn to true crime. Four close family members have been disloyal to me .

The tearful, cracking voice shows me just how much you truly care about what you do. I can tell that you make these videos as a voice for the victims. ❤️ I agree with you 100%, age should not have gotten him a lessor sentence. His crimes should get life without parole at the minimum. Much love from Tennessee, USA. I appreciate the care that you put into your work. Thank you for giving the victims a voice, and thank you for calling a spade a spade and not holding back when it comes to pieces of crap like this. At the moment, I am 23 years old. In a span of 12 years I have been introduced to my two little sisters who are now age 11 (12 this month) and age 4. While they can be a pain in their own rights I love them both with all of my heart. Cases like this always hurt the most to listen to, cases were innocent children are taken away from their families solely because people like Aaron Campbell exist. I tried to keep it together through this, listening to what this absolute prick of a creature did to this poor baby, but I couldn't contain it hearing her family member cry and seeing her coffin and the service. I don't think I've cried this hard over a case since you covered the Dunblane massacre. The thing I admire about your videos is your empathy and how much you cover the case, including psychological look over the criminal, the victims in question, and the aftermath of their sentence. You give the victims such a humanization that I wish more people did. Please keep doing what you're doing and never change, you're genuinely one of the best channels on this website. Rest in peace Alesha.

But hearing it come from you and how beautifully you humanized Alesha's unfortunate short life it's got me sitting here in bed crying my eyes out! This is such a tragic, horrible case. This one will stick with me for life. It's hard to believe monsters like this truly exist. And at such a young age too. I agree with the fact that he'll never "grow" out of it. Monsters don't just stop being monster's they just become older monsters. I hope he rots in prison until he takes his last miserable breath. And I'm pleased to hear that the coward little rat has to fear for his life in prison. I pray the guards turn a blind eye and the inmates get to tear him to shreds like he deserves. New and grateful subscriber here. Watching and looking through this channel’s videos, I’m really surprised and impressed not to find the wildly disproportionate spotlight on murderous women that so many other channels employ in order to pander to the youtube true crime audience. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (and every other source available) confirms that “men account for over 90 percent of all homicide perpetrators worldwide”, but you’d never guess that watching these other channels, which is perfectly easy to understand considering videos about female perps always get so many more clicks.

3:06 I watch your channel often and somehow missed this episode when it originally aired which is something I can’t explain as I am notified. Regardless, I happened upon another video titled “Most Hated Prisoners in the UK”. I realized I had to research the original crime. When your channel was one of the selections offered the choice was obvious which is why I’m watching. First, your videos was longer and more informative than any of the others and,….Secondly, you mention 2 other crimes, if I remember correctly, Tollbooth Killer and Campcity Killer at which time you said something that both surprised and impressed me. You asked for my patience because you work alone. The reason that impressed me it the volume you post, the detail you present and most impressive of all, the articulate narration, writing and professionalism of your work. I was taken aback when you said you work alone. To me that speaks volumes of your intellect and devoted hard work. I now have an even greater respect you and your channel. In Inuit communities a psychopath is known as “he who steals things while you are away” they deal with these individuals via “hunting trip accidents” they are erased and done away with. Every reaction a psychopath receives gives him / her a rush, so Campbell would have got a kick from the anguish he could hear in court also even when Georgina was screaming at him.
@janetpendlebury6808
@janetpendlebury6808 Жыл бұрын
Not every psychopath is a killer, or criminal, or will ever be one, so the Inuit 'solution' seems a bit over the top. Psychopaths are all around you, and do very well in professions such as Lawyers, surgeons, CEO's, clergy and sales people, so you probably meet some without even knowing it. They are usually pleasant and agreeable people who can be very charming, otherwise you would be able to spot them a mile away.
@mikearthur4253
@mikearthur4253 Жыл бұрын
@@janetpendlebury6808 no not every psychopath is a killer etc but in an Inuit community over the many centuries for example anyone identified would serve no good purpose as a lawyer, ceo etc and given that a psychopath lives for a rush they would be dealt with accordingly. It seems you are trying to glamourise psychopaths the same way tv programs do. They vary in intelligence like most humans but are in no way as numerous as you say either, I have encountered psychopaths in my time and neither was pleasant but indeed both had a massive degree of charm and that’s where they start. Again not all psychopaths are killers but have no doubt in your mind if they can get away with it and need to they will not hesitate. Most do get by in society in normal jobs and very distinguished jobs also because generally they know that bad behaviour doesn’t serve people well in the long run.

The story you told about this beautiful young girl, you give this young so much love throughout the story you could see how much this was hurting you as I was close also into the end of the story and how you told us with ur heavy heart about this young girl, on how innocent and beautiful she really was to be snatched of the evil monster who literally had no empathy no consideration no regard in evilness he did which is unspeakable on imaginable. I’ve heard this story several times, but never told in such a way that broke me also near the end made me realise that she was real young girl and this did happen and I can’t imagine it happening to any of my children. It must’ve been the most hardest thing in the world to deal with nothing that could compare to what this bast..d caused he is a genuine is a evil sadist streak of piss, and I just hope he does stay alive, and he gets the most horrific beatings of all the inmates and every time he recovers for the rest of his days, he takes another when he does come out is in no physical state, because he’s had that many injuries done to him that his will leave him in no physical shape where he wouldn’t have strength capability to hurt another child or anybody else. Thank you again for one of your heart breaking stories facts. I know right but there is a reason for this I think, it is common for people given long sentences to appeal it (like in this case) and they wiill look for anything to get years off, sometimes they say the judge was biased or unfair so i think, aside from just general professionalism, they are stoney faced so they dont give the offender something to moan about later

This case always makes my heart heavy. As soon as I saw angel Alesha in the video, alive and smiling my eyes filled with tears. She was so beautiful with an amazing life ahead of her, didn't deserve what that coward monster did to her. I hate violence but I would gladly apply to this idiot, once a week for 24 years, the same torture that he did to her. An immature teenager steels a chocolate or a toy, doesn't hurt others. He isn't immature , he's pure psychotic evil. Lock him in a dark basement an throw away the key. May princess Alesha rest in peace and my deepest and sincere condolences to the family. There needs to be some sort of protocol when a young person exhibits such alarming behaviour. At ten years old, he was extremely violent!! It seems that Campbell made it known to many people that he was having dark thoughts and even voiced what he would like to do to women and children. If he was killing animals, why wasn't it reported?? There were many red flags, yet no one intervened. His crime is one of the most sickening I ever heard and yet, to this day, it appears that he does not care and has no remorse. The Judge's speech had me in tears and was extremely powerful. I am appalled though that his sentence was reduced really??? Campbell will probably be murdered in prison, like that pervert Huckell, we can only hope that whatever happens to him, he will suffer. Rest in peace sweet little Alesha you were, and are loved❤‍🔥🕊🌹🌟🧸

unfortunately yes his sentence was reduced, not sure he will be another Richard Huckle (maybe) but his time will not be easy. I totally agree with what you said about something in terms of an assessment system or something to catch this before it gets to this point. Unfortunately, our society is not set up for that, likely because there is no money to be made which is pathethic, services to help people or protect people should be handed bags of money but this never happens, yet they can find money for vanity projects or payrises for the already ridiculously rich....rant over

I’m almost positive that his mum knew about her son’s involvement. I KNOW when my son’s lying to me-granted, he’s not a sociopath- but I’m sure his mum could just tell. Either he’s lying or something was just not right at all. He doesn’t seem like an “innocent-looking” child to me. He just has that air of something…I dunno exactly why, but when you feel someone is wrong, through a phone screen no less, not even in person, you just know. Innately we all feel it. We push those feelings & thoughts away h bc it we need to listen to those feelings bc they’re almost always right! I have no doubt that not just his mother, but friends, family members & neighbors could feel it too…he’s just plain…wrong. Bad- wrong.
