Thank you, BC. What a horrifying case! How does one get up one morning and decide, "I am going to murder people and make sausages out of them to cover up?" There seemed to have been no indications in their earlier lives that these people were would be murderers (violence they experienced may have been a contributing factor...). Beautifully narrated as usual:).

What a horrifying story. Jose Ramos had opportunities to have had a good life on the right side of the law but clearly had a dark side. Although Catarina had experienced some terrible things in her life, many other people have also had terrible experiences and still don’t allow themselves to become debased by them. However things might have turned out differently for Catarina if she had not become involved with Ramos who was definitely a malign influence on her, nevertheless a thirteen year sentence was lenient under the circumstances. There have been many people who have been executed who were more deserving of escaping the death penalty than Ramos but at least he was never released from prison and his insistence on proclaiming himself to be innocent proved he was not remorseful. I wonder how the people who ate those sausages must have felt when the truth came out.

Good morning! What a horrifying story ! First of all, I just want to say so sorry for the victims that were killed, including of course the owner of the shop. I can’t imagine being a customer, consuming sausages and later finding out that human meat was mixed in. I tried to wrap my head around this particular story and couldn’t think of why they would do such a thing. It seems like the guilt was getting to Klaus and Jose didn’t want to risk being caught. I’m glad that he was, but I also felt Catarina should have gotten more time in prison, if not life. It seems as if she just received a slap on the wrist at any rate such a horrible way to die. I know there’s been some issues with my punctuation and it’s because I am legally blind so you have to forgive me for that. Also I just had surgery on my left eye. I use my microphone and I think sometimes when I say something it doesn’t come out exactly how my microphone should hear it so I apologize for that. I hope you have a wonderful week and thank you. @vanessa_peres Aye, it was literally just the initial moment reaction. I think what threw me away was that I was not expecting him to be Brazilian with that name (I know Ramos as a more Spanish surname), but then also the mentioning of the region also made me go "ah, that makes sense". I mean, the Portuguese and the Spanish fought for like two hundred years for the area, after all, so lots of mixing is to be expected (like in the Uruguay-Brazil border, you get a huge number of people with Brazilian surnames). Sorry if I sounded confusing.
