The Be Sharp thanks, one of the many reasons why I love the Galactic Empire in Star Wars is because I’m fascinated by empires in real life. Plus although Pro-Rebel people often refer to the Empire as being like the Third Reich, I have always seen it as an amalgamation of the Roman Empire (mostly stylistically), the British Empire (ship dominance, just ships in space instead of water), and the USA (the modernised industrial powerhouse, the language used by Tarkin about using the Death Star sounds a bit like Truman in 45; and the Death Star generally reminds me of the modern nuclear deterrent).

I'm surprised you didn't mention this, but one of the reasons that the Empire did not engage in more extensive bio-weapon usage is that shortly after the formation of the Empire, they fought a pitched border war with the Koboks of the Kobothi confederacy over what amounts to what would be the borders of the Empire called the Mavvan Conflict, and in this conflict the Empire did try to use a weaponized version of the Rooze germ, only to have their biotech backfire on them and prove to be more virulent among their own storm troopers than it was in the Kobok population. The result was a disaster that led to the Empire essentially losing a war against a minor backwater power that they probably would have otherwise defeated. This left a very bad taste in the mouth of most Imperials regarding the reliability of bioweaponry and other sorts of asymmetrical warfare. Given the Empire's dominate position in symmetrical warfare, it was felt that bioweaponry and other unconventional weaponry was simply more risky than rewarding.

My headcanon (don't care for the official excuse) is that hyperdrives are kept partially charged at all times, because doing so creates a very small interdiction field just a little larger than the ship, which protects from accidental (and purposeful) hyperspace ramming. But that the hyperspace tracking system requires that you fully discharge the drive in order to detect anything than your own ship's (or even nearby allied fleet vessels') hyperdrive signatures. In other words, the tracking system's critical weakness is that the first order fleet could NOT have any charge in their hyperdrives if they wanted to track the rebel fleet when they jumped, and thus were vulnerable to hyperspace ramming. And well, when they saw the Raddis turn around towards them and saw what was about to happen, they panicked because they knew they didn't have enough time to get any charge in their drive before they got slammed into.

Yes, you did miss something critically important, which was surprising. You didn't talk about the virus or arguably viruses meant to kill off the clones. I think the first mention was in Republic Commando: Hard Contact and I think that storyline was adapted in the Clone Wars (non-Tartakovski version).

Project Blackwing was suppose to revive dead cells to enhance troopers and it could of worked with the death troopers which was the main goal but after they got it under control they probably evacuated the ship and blew it up for safety

There was an outbreak at a Sith academy. I think that academy was where the Empire found the virus in the first place. Then of course they tried weaponising it and it didn’t turn out too well for the Imperials. The Sith academy outbreak was featured in the novel Red Harvest.

The Macguffin of my Star Wars fan fiction novel trilogy, of which I have finished about a third of the second novel, is that the Imperial Nano Virus used first on the Roche asteroid & later to target the Fett genome, was based on research started on Alpha Red. In the second novel, Bror Jace discovers tampered bacta designed to enhance targeted genomes, while reducing most others to near mindless pack animals instead of sentient beings.

One thing about Blackwing I haven't seen anybody else mention. In Death Troopers, Dr. Cody stabs one of the infected in the eye with a syringe containing the antivirus. He stops attacking her, and tries communicating by talking to her and trying to write something down (which ends up being the name of the virus), before he reverts. Wouldn't that imply that there's some semblance of the person still in there under the control of the hive mind, not quite as dead as they seem?

I’d love a video on the BlackWing virus. Basically, BlackWing zombies can learn to operate machinery and weapons. In the book Death Troopers, the zombies take full control of a Star Destroyer and use the ship’s tractor beam to snag any nearby starships. Fun fact, Han Solo and Chewbacca are characters in this book. They barely escape with their lives. This incident could be why Han was spooked by the sight of Star Destroyers in A New Hope. Death Troopers takes place about a year before the battle of Yavin (1BBY)

Probably the Greatest Bio Weapon in Starwars Lore would be the RakGhoul Plague. However that was Sith and not Empire. It was on par with The Flood, in the Halo universe. The Rakghoul Plague was the death of thousands of systems and would spread indiscriminantly. There was an eventual cure, but the only well known cure was orbital bombardment and turning an entire planets surface to glass, and hope to hell none made it underground where they would be safe. Which was usually the case.
