Maya check if your bank offers "secured credit cards". You can only spend what the limit is and you don't have to worry about overdraft fees. Also apparently for debit cards there's a option to have your savings account be the backup payment method for your checking in case your balance is low. Instead of declining the transaction (and charging you a fee) it automatically deducts the remainder from your savings. I didn't find that out until 8 years of being at the same credit union like bruh why didn't yall tell me that 😭
