Since we accept the persons statement about a person saying he is a Muslim or a Salafi, and then you check over time the person's actual belief based on his words and actions, then i feel the term salafi is redundant. We could do the same with the word Muslim.

With respect , the ustadh side stepped concerns about " Fanaticism towards Saudi Arabia?". When people point to this issue it usually is regarding some people being ultra defenders of whatever the state of saud does even it's crimes . It's like they are protestants in how they fanatically put this state at the centre of their deen in the world . By the way not everyone who criticizes this house of saud is a khariji.

Why is the majority of muslims on internet wahhabi? And how is their dawah so strong. I, as maturidi, am always a stranger on internet to other Muslims...
@samihakimy47395 жыл бұрын
You should ask yourself why are you matirudi? Why do you ascribe to a man who came many many years after the companions and their students, as well as going against their belief and understanding? Allah tells us intheQuran in surah Baqarah if we believe the same as the companions we will be guided and it is mentioned in the famous hadeeth that all the groups in Islam will go to hell except the ones on the way of the companions. Also the hadeeth which says the best generations are the first three and Al matirudi was not from them. So how can you leave them and follow someone else? That's what it means to be salafi
@look4yourself6505 жыл бұрын
Assalamu Alaikum, I do not think that anyone here called himself "Wahhabi" - in fact, I have never seen anyone call himself Wahhabi and neither have I heard them qouting Muhammed ibn Abdul Wahhab in their arguments, rather they say we take the Quran and the Sunnah with the understanding of the early generations of Islam who were free from creedal differences. For those who ascribe themselves to this methodology - to take their creed from the early generations of Islam (i.e. Sahab, Tabi'een, Atba' Tabi'een), they have support from the Quran and the Sunnah for this. You stated that you are Maturidi, but why ascribe yourself to that person and what to you understand what being Maturidi means and what differentiates them from others?
@musha34625 жыл бұрын
Salaam The problem with salafiya is that it has no basic principles or usool like the four mazahib where a person can trace back the legal ruling to a usooli formula .. So In fact they are all over the place when it comes to rulings becouse they don't have a chain of teachers to the prophet .its a modern trend to follow salafia amongst the youth mostly .. They have slogans such as follow the Quran and sunnah directly from collections from bukhari ,don't follow anyone apart from the prophet and his companions but in reality most salafis will do taqleed of their local friends ..hence Isis claims to follow salafia becouse it can it's a youth movement based on cherry picking sayings of the first three generations to fit their whims and desires .. I think studying any one of the four mazahib is a boon for one's eemaan in this era . and constantly perfecting oneself in tazkiyah . May Allah guide us all ameen
@samihakimy47395 жыл бұрын
Youre confusing two different things. The four imams were imams if fiqh (rulings about actions) and the madhabs were not about aqeedah (belief). All four of them had the same belief which is the belief of the companions and the one that salafis ascribe themselves to. Ask your local imam that you follow what is your aqeedah he will probably say ashari or matirudi that is not the aqeedah of the 3 generations
@musha34625 жыл бұрын
Ashari or maturidi or salafi they all project there beliefs to the salaf only difference is that modern day salafis are close to being mujassima anprothomorfic .. This was the problem with previous religions they made god in time and space with hands and feet like the creation .. May Allah guide us all from heretical beliefs ameen
@KhalidGreen5 жыл бұрын
@@musha3462 It is not simply a matter of referring in name to the Salaf; contemporary Salafi scholars follow the math of Ahl Hadeeth in creed and methodology, which can be traced very clearly to how the Companions practiced and understood. However, we cannot say the same of sects like Asharis and Maturities who attribute their creed to individuals after the Salaf that moved away from more literal interpretations and developed their understanding in doctrine from opinion, analogy, and metaphorical interpretation, especially in the Divine Attributes of Allah. Contemporary Salafis reject Mujassima and Anthropomorphism rather they Affirm what Allah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم affirm as was articulated in the Book and Sunna.
@rickyusuf86964 жыл бұрын
Mush A Why you consider they anthromorphic? Just because they don’t get rid of the Quran and interpret the names and attributes of Allah in accordance with the 10 statements (or muqaalaat) that the pagan Aristotle came about? Just because their aqeedah is not based on philosophy and “laws” of body and movement by the same author? I don’t find evidence to that in the Quran or sunnah that are above anything else... anybody who wants to understand what the Ash’aris and Maturidis along with the mu’tazilah are upon, he should read the 10 statements of Aristotle, so he would get what they mean when they accuse the Salafis of antromorphism.

The problem with the term "methodology of the salaf", as been explained by the moroccan scholar Sheikh Mawlud as Sriri (hafidhahullah), is a loose term. It is not clearly defined what is "the methodology" of the salaf. Because even among the salaf there have been different understandings of the quranic and prophetic text, which survived in the 4 schools of thought. What people mean today, when they attribute themselves to the Salafiyah they mean the Atharīyāh school of the Hanabilah. Another problem is, that the brother (may allah preserve him) translated Ilm al Kalam (17:11) with philosophy and this is a translation which could indicate the he doesnt knows what Ilm al Kalam is. The definition of Ilm al Kalam, as given by Sayed Ahmed al Marzuqi or Imam as Sanusi is the affirmation of islamic creed and its defense from any misconceptions. Rather philosophy has nothing to do with ilm al kalam. I also wonder how he could say that there has been a consensus among the salaf that you could call yourself Salaf, and than quotes Ibn Taymiyah (rahimahullah) who wasn't of the first three Generations. And Ibn Taymiyah (rahīmahullah) is known to be very "liberal" when it comes to claiming consensus about a topic. And Allahs knows best
@SalafiWorld5 жыл бұрын
Boaz Goldmeyer what your Shaikh, Siriri said makes no sense. From the ways of the people of desires is that they confuse the people about Salafiyah by confusing the consensus of the Salaf on Aqeedah issues with the differences they had on fiqh issues. The Sahaba differd on fiqh indeed, but they had consensus on Aqeedah. Anybody who says other wise is a deviant. The Salafi manhaj would exist with or without Ahmed ibn Hanbel. Kalam my friend is based on Aristotelian logic. They came about with the expansion of Islam in the lands like Shaam were Greek Philosophy existed. They tried to use Aristotelian logic to supposedly defend Islam, instead of using pure Quran and Sunnah.

What consensus? Madhab as Salaf does not mean Salafi, this is a misinterpretation of what Ibn Taymiyyah meant. Sadly, in essence these people who ram salafiyyah down your throat are not happy with what Allah SWT described us with, that is Muslim. Making an analogy between the Munafiqun and trying to test whether someone is a "proper muslim" then that is from the characteristics of the khawarij. Allah knows best
