You should consider a solar powered automatic door for your chicken coop. Mine will open at sunrise and close at sunset, or you can set the timer to open and close when you want it to. I've had mine for over a year now and it's only failed to close one time and it's probably because a chicken got in the way of it closing and it opens back up

Growing up, my parents had a large two story house. We were in the second floor apartment and my father's parents occupied the first floor. I had the great fortune of growing up with my grandparents' hugs and ate some great old style Canadian-French cooking practically every day. When I was probably about 5 years old, I remember my father climbing up the monstrously tall ladder and with only hand tools, scraped and painted the whole building dark brown. Watching Red Poppy Ranch reminds me so much of how good my youth was. I see that goodness in your family too. Blessings from the Lord to you and yours. With Aloha....

I made some flower boxes a few years ago and I coated the inside with flex seal brushed on it. I just started replacing the dirt in there this fall and the inside of the boxes look just like the day I built them. I had considered bending up some aluminum to cover the inside, but the flex seal worked like a charm and much easier.

The stain color is spot on. I am so happy to see that beautiful wood finally protected. It also will be great when the deer pen is expanded. Don't know if you ever mentioned it or not but what is the plan for the deer. Obviously, you can't have them interbred going forward. Will the state do something to help you relocate or exchange the buck so that won't happen? They sure are a healthy looking group now that you have taken such good care of them. While you were picking fresh green beans, I was eating some dilly green beans a family member pickled using garlic and dill. There are delicious.

The change in the look of the house has been a revelation, the new colour has given the house a look of old time strength but at the same time a look of warmth and welcoming. It takes time for perfection and you guys are well on the way to achieving your goal. Perhaps one day if I win the lottery and with your permission drive by and see it in person. I can dream can't I 😅 Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Ruby looks great when she is on point! The skunk will not be missed. Don't lose any sleep over him. He had no fear and continued after the chickens when you were clearly there. They can attack kids too and the they do more than spray. They will bite. And they can carry rabies.

If you have a local honey supplier use the honey to treat the burns and prevent infections. It's great to put onto open wounds/cuts/burns as it prevents the bandages from sticking to the dried blood when changing them. Its still good to put on infected scabs to stop the infection spreading. Honey is anti bacterial, anti fungal and a natural dis-infectant and aids the healing process much quicker. If you can get high grade New Zealand Manuka honey even better but it can be expensive. Besides the local honey is good for pollen allergies as it builds up local immunity. Wishing you a quick recovery

Aloe gel on those burns will help a lot! Hope they heal quick, that is no fun. A question about your deer. I see them stomping from biting flies. I don't know the life cycle of them, but if they are like what gets on cattle and horses in Texas, they raise in manure. You can order fly predators and put them out around the bedding areas and anywhere that might be damp. They are tiny wasps that parasitize the fly pupa and they work great and no poisons or sprays are nessessary. It may be to late in the year in your country to give them a chance to work before it freezes, but it might be something to think about for next spring. It will help a lot to keep them more comfotable with no creek or river to get in to get them off! Love your videos and can't wait till they are up.

Oh, my! A quilt shop with snap shirts? One. I love to quilt! Two. A snap shirt would make a nice dress for a short woman like me. Or a good nightgown! Three. I've had a crazy year for gardening here in Minnesota. I'm going to get things set up for next year if I possibly can. I would think that visiting a small town with a little restaurant, a quilt shop, and cool shirts would make an excellent date! Blessings on you both, your family, and on your homestead and any livestock wandering about your ranch! Love from Minnesota's Lake Country!

Yes the house started to be an up stairs house and downstairs a work shop. What is currently the work shop building was supposed to be the house. Plans change. I think you made the right changes. I am liking the new stain. Interesting, I never saw green beans sort of fried before. Hope the arm heals quickly. Looks like the stain reacted with the aluminum buttons on your shirt. Aluminum actively reacts with dilute acids: sulfuric, hydrochloric and nitric, with the formation of the corresponding salts: aluminium sulfate Al2SO4, aluminium chloride AlCl3 and aluminium nitrate Al (NO3)3.

JudithB Owwwieee! Sorry to hear and see that, hope it heals fast!!! yep, we have to remove critters now n then as they would rather eat my chickens, eggs and feed, then to stay in the woods eating bugs, etc. It looks like you need a board at the bottom of the door and maybe some stepping stones to keep them from digging in. When I clean out my chicken pen, I am going to add welded wire along the wall to keep critters out too!! I use to make a lot of the western shirts with snaps for my ex. and son.
