To me it sounds like it was from around 1980 (see that as a compliment), but it was released in 1987 and re-released in 1990. Great music.

Shoegazing had its moments but at its worst just adopted the look of 1986 and then relied on as many effects as possible being stomped on in the middle of the song... 😀
