Animation is rather long, and when you use one item you lose it forever if I recall. The idea that every item can potentially be used as a weapon works, but getting away with murder without the atmosphere going down should be punished much more than it already does.

A while back, Yandere Simulator was updated with a gameplay mode that features 10 rivals and a complete story with a proper beginning, middle, and end. It is possible to beat the game and watch the credits roll. That gameplay mode - "1980s Mode" - only took 3 months to add to the game, which proves that, if the developer wanted to, he could add the remaining 9 rivals extremely quickly. However, he believes that other aspects of the game still need to be improved further before it will be fun to eliminate the rivals, so he is currently prioritizing other things aside from the rivals, and will shift his focus to the rivals once he feels that he has taken care of all the other tasks that should be completed first, and that is why he is making these updates. All of this has been explained before in his videos and his blog posts. Many, many times, and it's quite ignorant of you to say that there's a problem with him not releasing Kizana, when you haven't even been following the development of the game. At least not recently.

@ghostlikesbugs I believe that “make a game fun” and “make a game bug-free” are more important objectives than “finish the game right away,” and I don’t understand how anyone can disagree. I will tell you why. If there are 10 rival girls in the game, but there aren’t a bunch of fun ways to eliminate them, then the game won’t be any fun. Therefore, it makes the most sense to primarily focus on implementing all of the game’s planned mechanics and systems, and not begin working on rivals until the rest of the game is feature-complete. If there are bugs/flaws/exploits in the game, the player would get frustrated by bugs while trying to eliminate the rivals. Therefore, it makes the most sense to spend a bunch of time focusing on fixing bugs/flaws/exploits, and not implement the rivals until all of the bugs/flaws/exploits are removed. If there is absolutely nothing in the game except for rivals and elimination mechanics, then the game would feel barren and devoid of content. Therefore, it makes the most sense to add a bunch of fun features, minigames, and side-activities to the game, and only implement the rivals after the game is content-rich. Also, money is needed to finish the rivals. If he asks for money, but the game has a bunch of problems, then nobody will have any faith in him or want to donate money. Therefore, it makes sense to spend time making the game as balanced, polished, and refined as humanly possible, and only ask for money after making the game as close to “perfect” as he can get it without needing money. No matter how it is looked at, no matter what angle the situation is examined, no matter how much time is spent thinking about it, the conclusion is always the same: The smartest course of action is to completely ignore the rivals until every other aspect of the game is finished/fixed/polished. It just doesn’t make sense to rush the rivals into the game first and then make the game fun afterwards.

@@black.lockhart At this point he will never have a successful crowdfunding because the game has nowhere near the hype it used to have, ironically exactly due to the fact that he's been so unwilling to start one. He always claimed he would once the demo is out, only to then keep claiming for 3 years after its release that the demo 'isn't good enough' to warrant one yet. Which is getting quite ridiculous. Either he's a crippling perfectionist to the point of it hurting his own game, or he knows he's incapable of making the full game and stalling for time/money through a never-ending stream of updates masked as 'necessary progress'. Most people who would've actually funded this have either moved on from this game or would never trust him with their money to actually complete it.

The whole point of 1980s mode, was to show people that he could do that. In fact, if he wanted, he could add all the rivals to the game in a week or so and call it finished. However, it will just feel like 1980s mode - all rivals have the same events, same locations, same side-story etc etc. The reason he isn't doing this, is because he wants each 202X rival to be unique and actually be fun to eliminate unlike 1980s rivals which are much the same girl every week with a new wig. The new rivals will come after the Crowdfunding Campaign takes places in which the Dev hopes to raise the money to pay people to make all the new unique assets the 202X rivals need.

The premise itself may seem straightforward, but the number of features and depth of mechanics is comparable to that of AAA open-world sandbox titles. It's unrealistic to expect a game like this to be completed in less than 6 years, simply due to the unusually large scope and deep complexity of the game, coupled with the fact that it's mostly being developed by a single person. Nobody can accurately estimate how long it should take to complete this project, because there isn't a pre-existing project it can be compared to. No solo developer has ever attempted to build a social stealth school simulation sandbox game before. The length of time that it takes for a single man develop a game like this has simply not been established yet, so it's not reasonable to claim that it's being developed "slowly". •Early in the game's development, he adapted an unreasonable update schedule - one major feature every 2 weeks. As a result, the game was developed under "crunch time" for several years straight; 15-hour workdays, no vacations, constantly sacrificing physical and psychological health, etc. This caused him to become "burned out", which severely reduced his productivity. Due to the ongoing obligation to devote most of his time to Yandere Simulator, he has never had an opportunity to recover from this burnout and return to normal levels of productivity. •He has been mischaracterized, misportrayed, misrepresented, and character assassinated by drama KZbinrs who financially benefit from producing content where they ridicule, shame, humiliate, and vilify their target. Going through this experience has caused him to feel like his life and career are permanently destroyed, which has killed his motivation to work on his game, reducing his productivity further. •He has been harassed and abused on a daily basis for about 5 years, and the constant mistreatment has compounded the problem of lost enthusiasm/motivation/productivity. All of the above factors - ambitious scope, solo developer, burnout, character assassination, constant harassment - have slowed down the game's development. The burnout is his own fault, but the game would doubtlessly be much further into development by now if it wasn't for the constant slander and mistreatment.

In October of 2021, Yandere Simulator was updated with a gameplay mode that features 10 rivals and a complete story with a proper beginning, middle, and end. It is now possible to beat the game and watch the credits roll. That gameplay mode - "1980s Mode" - only took 3 months to add to the game, which proves that, if the developer wanted to, he could add the remaining 9 rivals extremely quickly. However, he believes that other aspects of the game still need to be improved further before it will be fun to eliminate the rivals, so he is currently prioritizing other things aside from the rivals, and will shift his focus to the rivals once he feels that he's taken care of all the other tasks that should be completed first. All of this has been explained before in his videos and his blog posts. Many, many times.
