My great-grandparents immigrated to Texas from Mexico, legally. They came here and embraced America, raised their children to be responsible citizens, and they built a good life here. They appreciated being here, made this their home, and never insisted that they were entitled to be here, that they had some historical right. The "immigrants" who come here now behave as though they are entitled, they break our laws coming here illegally, they bring drugs and violence, they neglect their children who then become delinquents and criminals, they overwhelm our government services, take what they didn't contribute to building, and do all of this as though they're entitled to. They wave their flags and shout "La Raza!", which means "The Race!" and don't let these leftist liars pretend that it means something else, it's a slogan that means exactly what it says. It means tribalism, it means taking from those who aren't them, it means that they believe they are entitled and do not care about assimilating, it means they are here to take what they want from you. Of course, this isn't everyone from south of the border, I'm Mexican myself, but it isn't a small percentage. They are millions, they hate you, they want what you have and are willing to take it from you in any way they can. These leftist, champagne-socialists don't have to worry about this, not in their neighborhoods, it's not their kid's schools being overrun by violence and having their classrooms being overcrowded and resources diverted to teaching children who neither speak the common language here nor are willing to learn. No, they can stand on stage and preach to you about how unfair some made up, emotionally charged anecdote is and how it's your fault for not putting them before you. They'll stand there and lie right to your face about how this fairy tale is representative of the millions who invade our country and show no respect and even hatred toward us, which is evident in the many thousands of your children who are killed in the streets, fed the drugs they bring, sexually abused and trafficked because of their vile culture of permissive abusive behavior by men towards women and girls. No, they just want the power that the new votes will bring them, and they don't mind paying for it with the future of your children, the destruction of your cities, and your spilled blood, they and theirs will be fine. Anyone who cares about their children and their country needs to vote these traitors out in November, it's either them or you.

First of all, American are aware of the food shortage. There are so many pieces of the pie, while you can say we can grow more food, 11 million slices three times a day is a huge chunk, which raises the question, do we have the farms to do it? Second, this isn't about the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect, it is about food, houses, jobs, land, monetary resources, taxes, and...you get the picture, plus 11 million makes a good size army. How much can America, Americans afford? If I let even one into my home, it more than strains my resources, it's the same as a nation. What about citizen's American dream. Yes, we need to do something. I suggest we teach them agriculture, how to build homes, fight back against their political system. We did it during the civil war, and so can they. Honor comes from fighting against oppression. inviting them in only makes them weak (male them believe that they can't do it). If I were you, I'd look at both side of the picture before giving another talk. I don't agree with you Mr. Noorani. Americans are angry because they know this. it makes us nervous. At some point I have to stop letting my family use my resources, my food, my home or we;d all starve as a family.

Excuse me, but thats a very narrow understanding of the world that we live in. Its absolutely a myth that America is having a shortage of food/water/housing etc. America is nowhere nearly as populated as the rest of the world (Europe, Asia and Africa). The land is fertile and the average worker productivity is the highest in the world. Not only is America self-sufficient in food, it is in fact one of the largest exporters of food grains in the world (behind Ukraine and Canada). America has the strongest military and can defend itself against any external threat. It has one of the strongest legal enforcement systems in the modern world. Average person consumes more than 1.5x of their daily caloric intake requirement. There is ample supply of water from fresh water lakes and rivers (some of them need to be tapped more to provide a much better supply though). You know what America is actually short on? People. Its people who build new houses, work on developing new water pipelines, participate in the army and the police as well as provide the hope that we like to call future. And you cannot do all that if wages are high and there's an energy crisis going on (which makes everything more expensive naturally). Get more people, stabilize wages and invest in the nation's infrastructure, otherwise it won't take more than a few odd decades for other high-growth nations to leave America behind.
@davidspringer4019

@@akash_goel And you live in denial that there is not a problem. If there isn't a problem, why are so many in America starving? Why don't food banks have food to give to the poor? Wise up and open your eyes. Stop repeating what Musk says, it just makes you look uninformed. Overpopulation is one of our biggest problems. We KNOW hundreds of thousands come into America draining our resources. Our military is well trained, but fewer and fewer join. You're deluded.

Almost 1/3rd of US food supply is wasted every year. That's enough for 100 million extra people at current capacity. We have laws for a reason. If I suggested that anyone here leave their yard and house open to everyone who wanted to go in, you would think I was insane. Our country's border is no different. Very difficult to find any instances of paradigm change or similar. Straight down the scientific line without any divergence from the norm. One cannot expect to have advancement under these conditions. That is my argument; not out of naiivety but from philosophy. If the TED lectures encompass these variations, then they are rare. My great-grandparents immigrated here to Texas, from Mexico, legally. I can certainly sympathize with people who want to immigrate here, it's wonderful. But the problem isn't that we don't want immigrants, the problem is that we have people coming here without going through the proper channels, and so many of them are violent criminals, or are simply coming to make money, exploit the system, and are not refugees at all. And yes, the people who want to follow the rules and really do need to flee oppressive systems and violence suffer because of the bad ones. The only way we can fix the problem and bring the right people here and in the right way is to strengthen our borders and stop buying the nonsense that people like the man in this video keeps pushing. I do hope you make it here, I promise you that Texans don't hate immigrants. In fact, we've benefitted a great deal from one South African immigrant in particular. We'd certainly welcome more.
